I’ve heard complaints at other locations, not Fox Lake. Very helpful and patient.Restaurant was very clean. The empty tables were all ready for customers to come in to eat.Decent amount of parking for the strip mall.Menu is laid out nicely. Good variety. Prices are competitive depending on what you get. I didn’t notice anything extremely expensive or inexpensive. I think maybe their fajitas are priced lower than other restaurants in the area. I usually prefer to stay to eat fajitas so maybe next time.Food was not only delicious BUT FILLING! Omgshhhh… I ate half and had to take a nap to sleep ? off my full tummy! “I was really loving the food here but its a little expensive. I was plan on returning often until I seen my bill and was charged $2.00 for a glass of water. It was not a bottle of water just tap water. It was a small glass of water and I have never paid so much for a glass of water to go with my order. So much for the yummy food!“
“Amazing. The food is authentic; the meat not laced with a stupid amount of gristle. The spices are insanely good - you can TASTE the marinade they take the time to do.My friends and I ate there and it's pretty clear they do not have many dine-in customers. But we were tended to perfectly.An aside, a person in an electric wheel chair showed up and asked for a burrito in exchange for her name and phone number and a promise to pay. They didn't hesitate. My group and people from the kitchen came out offering to lift them into the restaurant . They declined but the kitchen made her her burrito.Perfect food. Perfect addition to a productive and caring society. They don't seem to get many dine-in customers but the experience was fantastic.I cannot recommend this place enough. A+, 10/10. Delicious food, sympathetic workers.“
“Always a delicious spot for lunch and dinner. Daily specials posted on the white board inside. Tacos never disappoint! I always get 2 tacos and some rice with a horchata. Dine in available but beware parking a little weird outside and if you're unfamiliar with unloading wheelchairs in a slight slant I would park in the side or exterior of the building of at all possible. Parking is limited and easier to pull into going north bound on rt 12. South bound you sit in the meridian until traffic dispurses. There are also signs posted for not parking at the local deli next door, just avoid the south end of the building actually.“
“This was my first time here and I was very impressed. Very good food and very friendly staff. We want late on a Thursday so we have no idea how the view is but given how good the food was I don't know it would have mattered. We got fresh quac which was amazing and shrimp fajitas. Chips were fresh and warm and portions were large. This was one of my favorite Mexican restaurants thus far.“

“Due to the superb quality of the food and the outstanding service this has quickly become my wife and I's favorite spot to eat. We will probably be returning weekly and will be regular customers. The young man who does the serving is very attentive and more polite than anyone else I've ever seen in a restaurant. They always greet you when you walk in and say goodbye when you leave. “I was in the neighborhood and decided to try this place which looks kind of bad outside. I am glad I tried it and this review is only my "to-go" experience. Food and service were both top-notch.I ordered 3 tacos just to try: Carnitas, Steak and Chorizo. The carnitas were juicy and well seasoned, The chorizo taco was pretty big and the tasted really good. The steak taco was just average and the meat was a bit dry for my taste.I was pleasantly surprised in general with the taste and how fresh and authentic the salsa was.I will need to stop by again to try a full dish and the quality of the guacamole which looked pretty good when I saw it served at one of the tables. The place is very small (about 10 tables max) and I am wondering if they actually can keep up with the service if they are at full capacity.“

Willing to really go out of their way to help you and I am very glad I went in. Best Chalupas and Gorditas I've had in a while! been here several times, great Michilada's! small outside seating area and the inside is as well. about 10 tables inside, with a Bar to sit at and maybe 5 outside with sun umbrellas. (for warmer weather.) when it gets busy it can be kinda crowded but the family of about 8 do a great job keeping up! a must go to if you're in the mood for some great Mexican food! Pick your time right and avoid the crowd (unless you're into that kinda thing...) for great food, great, service and a Great atmosphere with delicious drinks! I've had the Chalupas Amazing, Gorditas Excellent, Margaritas Tangy and sweet, ChimiChanga dinner Awesome, try the fresh homemade Salsa And Guacamole! I usually go alone and have a beer before and with dinner, and a drink after dinner and it's usually around $25 to $35 + tipParking: they have an upper and lower parking lot. “Went in on Sunday, location was cleaned inside and outside the restaurant. There was enough parking behind the restaurant. Food was amazing, had menudo de res which was great, hot and they also gave me chile de arbol to add spiciness to the menudo. Also ordered a molcajete fajita meal for 2, my daughter and I could hardly finish it. It has so much meat with rice and beans on the side. I really got my money worth. “We love this place. Never dined in, it's a small and very generic dining area at the front of the restaurant. It's always been a takeout place for us; and they seem to always have people sitting in there after placing an order to take out, so they seem to do good business. Generally we get enchiladas and burritos, and they have always been top notch. Their hot salsa is terrific. Service has always been polite and prompt. We often make a point of stopping in when we're driving by it. Yum.“

We had Hailey as our server and she was so sweet and on top of everything! We were there for hours and she always made sure we were good on drinks and refilled our chips when we got low. I also did not have any chicken nuggets from the kids meal, They also had no Lengua tacos and only enough steak to make three tacos. Athey got the true jalisco style flavor on point. The beef quesabirrria tacos were also amazing, they werent really fried and it needed the cheese on the outside but other than that 10/10. “I have tried to order birria tacos in the past when visiting on a Friday. I was told it's served only on the weekend. To them this means Saturday and Sunday.We visited on Saturday and ordered 3 birria tacos. I got a plate woth 3 tacos on it but no consomme. I asked at the counter. The young woman walked in the kitchen. There was a hushed conversation and she eventually returned with a little bit of consomme in a styro cup. One of the other women came up and told me "We don't usually give the consomme with the birria tacos. We'll make a special exception this time."I have ordered birria all over this country. LosAngeles, Dallas, Houston, most recently in Franklin, KY. It has always been served with consomme. I've never had to ask for it. I am put off by this. El Rey del Pollo Asado makes good tacos, burritos, and charo beans and I'll be back for them. But is there really any reason to order birria if you have to beg for the consomme? I brought this up to a couple of my Mexican colleagues while we were at lunch and they confirmed what I felt. You order birria. You get consomme.“

“I'm a regular here (I live just 5 minutes from there) and their food has always been very good. Service is great even on the days that they are very busy. I also order takeout food from here almost weekly, especially on Tuesdays when they have their taco specials going and the tacos for takeout are less than $2.00 each. I will usually get 4-6 steak tacos on those days along with a tamale on the side and a refreshing Horchata to wash everything down. Why cook at home for myself when I can just come here to get my dinner and either eat inside or take my food home to eat. They also have a delicious taco dinner that comes with 3 tacos of your choice with a side of refried beans and some Spanish Rice. I've tried most of the food items on their menu and have never been disappointed. The prices are also very reasonable for the meal that you're getting. I would highly recommend them to anyone who happens to be in the area or reasonably close by.“
