“The Alchemist is quite simply fantastic. I can’t think of anyplace where you can get better seafood. So many cocktail bars offer drinks with great names but with no pizzazz when it come to the taste. All of The Alchemist’s cocktails have pizzazz, and if you don’t see something you want, have the bartender mix something up for you on the spot!“

“The Fortunes in South Elgin is really a friendly place. The staff is a lot of fun. Everyone seems to know each other there. It’s very clean. It’s got good drink specials and free snacks and soda and water. I think it’s the best place in South Elgin to play, and there are quite a few all around this area.“

“My friend and I discovered this gaming cafe located in the corner of an almost empty parking lot. Since the start of the pandemic, we've been gaming here and we haven't done that bad. Not big wins, but not to many losses either. We both agree that Kolinkos manager (lady who tends the bar for majority of time, always has a smile) is such a friendly person and she does her best.customer services is good and our experience has been that our experience has been a positive one and I hope more people start to give this place a try. You'll find a very nice lady who tends majority of the time. Its a possibility that family will come and help her out by covering her Shift here and there. After this it cool to see them join in the fun and pay. come here often as the peopleyone is very welcoming. has been 4 star treatment“

While the current options are acceptable, they lean toward the average rather than showcasing truly standout wines. Expanding and refining the wine list would greatly enhance the overall appeal for those who appreciate quality offerings.
Additionally, the pricing feels slightly above what one might consider standard. For instance, two glasses of wine accompanied by a small charcuterie board—featuring prosciutto, blue cheese, jam, and olives—came to $90 excluding tip. While the service remains commendable, a better balance between price and value could improve the overall experience.
In summary, this is a charming place with excellent service, but there is room for refinement, particularly in wine selection and pricing. With a few adjustments, it has the potential to become a standout destination in the area.“

“We love CH have eaten there so many times. We always order the Prime Rib sandwiches. This is the first time 7/23/25 the Prime Rib meat was tough? “My husband and I stopped by while taking the kids holiday shopping. My husband had the cranberry rum mule. I had the peppermint espresso martini. The drinks were made quickly and the woman on staff was welcoming and kind. The drinks were high end restaurant quality! We will revisit Tapville again in the future!“

“This restaurant has been here for about 19 years. I have never seen it before last night. We were looking for a new Italian place and came across Nuova Italia. I am glad we did. The quality of food and portion size are a very good value. Its about what you would pay at Biaggi's. the food is much better and more authentic tasting (imo). It does look like they have a major leak in the celling in the middle of the restaurant. It wasn't anything that made me question the food safety or anything. Its just a little distracting from the beautiful aesthetics of the historic building.“
