“Love Crusins! We have lived here for three years and didn't frequent the two restaurants in town. Not sure why. Crusins is great restaurant is always clean, staff is really nice. Go on Thursdays and get the stroganoff. You won't be disappointed. ??“

“Pub 72 is truly a hidden gem in the area.Great neighborhood place with fantastic food and people. The owner, Michael, and his family have been in the hospitality business in the Chicagoland area for years and each of their establishments is truly the standard of what a neighborhood spot should be. You always know you’re getting a great meal. But Pub 72 is special because its bbq is exceptional. The dining area has also recently been elevated as a new addition has been made to the bar giving a relaxing spacious area for multiple large parties. I highly recommend you stop in, Michael will make you feel like family, and you may even get to beat him at darts.“

“Fun place with lots of regulars. Staff has been there for many years even when the original owner sold. Great place to go. Even if you have wait a few minutes for a table, it is totally worth the wait! Go and enjoy! Also try the soup, you will be glad you did!“

“Five stars all around for this wonderful restaurant! As first time diners we weren't sure what to expect as all dishes are gluten-free, however every dish was delicious and satisfying. Our party started with 2 very tasty appetizers of Mussels and Cheese Curds. We then enjoyed the House and Seasonal Salads, both having a wonderful honey mustard vinaigrette. For an added touch, the Seasonal Salad was topped with goat cheese. I can't say enough about our entrees. Not only were the presentations well done, all tasted as wonderful as they looked! The Skate Wing with Snap Peas was a mild white meat fish, with caper brown butter sauce. The Short Rib was perfectly done and topped with brown sugar glaze. The Hanger Steak, ordered medium rare, had a roasted peppered chutney, charred on the outside, and two roasted whipped sweet potatoes. Our meal was topped off with the Julian's Frozen Custard dessert and espresso. The restaurant itself is somewhat small, with a cozy and charming feel to it so reservations are a must! Our service thruout the evening was exceptional so kudos to the attentive staff. A final note there is additional parking across the street so take advantage when the main lot is full. Will definitely be dining here again!“

“Took The Wife here for a late lunch. It was busy-ish, but we got a table fairly quickly. I got a Cheeseburger that took a very long time to make, and The Wife got a soup and half a sandwich. Nice place for the most part, but the seats and tables were sticky and dirty. Prices were more than average. A bit on the high side. Not sure if we'll come back.“

“Mountain of praise for Montarra The experience was very pleasant. This was our second time here and, to be honest, we only returned because we had a gift certificate. But we were pleasantly surprised and delighted. Service: Excellent. Both wait staff and hostess team seemed very engaged, from when I made the reservation to when we stepped into the restaurant and even when we left. Our waitperson was efficient, polite, and knowledgable. Food: was really outstanding (we had bouillabaisse and a special risotto dish with scallops). The menu was varied and interesting - I often gauge a restaurant by looking at the menu and having a difficult time making a selection because many items looked good. I liked that they had a quality menu with several selections that seemed creative. The quantity of items was also just right. Not too many, not too few. Other: When they took my reservation, they asked if it was a special occasion. I said it was for my husband's birthday. They asked his name - I didn't really know why but told them. When we were seated, I realized why. They had printed a special version of the menu with a happy birthday note to my husband. It was a very inexpensive, clever, and simple, yet meaningful step. We were impressed. We would definitely return - even without the gift certificate.“

“I gave this place a 4 star and that's only because Chelsea came and saved it from being a 2 star. Our original server was atrocious and had no idea what she was doing. We got sat at our table and another couple got sat right after us. The other couples server came right away and took their drink order and also gave them some tickets for something. We sat down at 540. That time is important to the next part of my story. So after about 15 minutes our server finally came and took our drink and Appetizer order. After another 10 minutes our drinks finally arrived. At that point we hear a bunch of commotion. They were apparently announcing that they were doing a raffle from the tickets they were handing out. I said I had no tickets, and OUR SERVER said, "you had to be here before 6pm". I said we were here before 6. She said I don't think you were. I said that table behind us sat down AFTER US and they got tickets. So how is that possible. She said we'll I'm sorry its the owners rules. Really? She was the one who couldn't be found for over 20 minutes. As they are doing the raffle I see the guy coming with our Appetizer. I said hey that's ours. He said I have to verify first. Really? You don't know table numbers? After running around and waiting for OUR server to finish the raffle we weren't even part of, She finally tells him it's ours and he brings it to us. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't hot either. It tasted really good but would have been better hot. There was alot of bad this server did before Chelsea came to take over. Everyone there seems clueless and ran around trying to figure out what to do. Chelsea should be a trainer since she was the only one that could deliver. Looking at previous reviews that seems to be the continuous problem, bad staff. Keep Chelsea or you will have to close your doors with poor service. The food we did get after she took over was very very delicious. So very good. These days service means everything and if you keep this poor server you won't last, even if your food is phenomenal.“

“Had a great time stopping in for lunch on a Sunday. Tasty spicy Bloody Mary. So happy they bag interesting vegetarian options!!! This made my vegetarian friends happy and me because I picked it! Buffalo Cauliflower was just lightly battered and peefectly cooked with a good plate full. The chickpea curry was yummy and I had grilled chicken with it. The desserts looked yummy but not this trip. “First time at this location for Cooper's Hawk, & it was a wonderful experience! I went to Cooper's Hawk for lunch with my youngest brother & mother for Easter Lunch. We were greeted with such a warm & welcoming atmosphere & presence from the staff in attendance. I got the Crab, Shrimp & Lobster Bisque as an appetizer, & it was my very first time trying it, & it was delicious! I also tried the Brussels sprouts dish they had as an appetizer & they were really good. As my meal I had the Baked Parmesan Shrimp Scampi, absolutely amazing! The only thing was that it was slightly swimming in the oil/sauce, but otherwise it was delicious!! Would HIGHLY recommend this location to friends & family, & would definitely come back!!!“

“We got there when they first opened and our service was great. I’ve been places that act out off by the arrival of customers upon first opening so I am appreciative that was not the case. We drive for a living so getting to stop and eat somewhere is a treat. This spot is connected to a hotel so the parking may be minimal depending on what they have going on. We’re in a 40’ straight truck and still found parking with a full lot. Being that it was my first time I’d never had the Hawaiian chicken before. It reminded me of burbon chicken, which I am not a fan of. I asked if they could remake the chicken without the marinade and there was no issue. Don’t let that discourage you from trying the Hawaiian I’m just a super picky eater. The rice pilaf and broccoli were great! Check your water cups because I didn’t catch mine til later into my drink that it had some floaties at the bottom. I had no toddlers with me to cause this. I did let my waitress know and she took care of it and informed me she switched water sources. I mention this so anyone with an issue isn’t hesitant to bring it respectfully to their attention and they too will respectfully address and fix the problem. No yelling or fits are necessary. Now that we know this place is here and we can fit our truck we will be sure to try more dishes in the future should we return to this area. “I have lived in Elgin going on 5 years.There are not many places to eat around Elgin that the wife and me have not been to.we have been to Paul's for breakfast numerous times and have enjoyed it. This past Saturday evening we were tired and did not feel like driving far, so we thought we would give Paul's a try for dinner. We both were pleasantly surprised! My wife got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy.Her food was flavourful and she got a nice portion. She was also happy that they had French dressing,as a lot of restaurants just don't carry it.I had a full slab of ribs, juicy,tender, smothered in sauce, and fall off the bone. My new go to rib spot in Elgin! Most places have soup or salad, I got both at Paul's.I would strongly suggest the cream of chicken and rice.For my salad, I was surprised to see they had my raspberry vinegeret dressing, which a lot of places don't carry. My go to place in the area was Village Tavern, not any more! Waitress was funny,friendly,outgoing,and attentive.“

“If you're looking for an American fare restaurant the Around the Clock Restaurant is a great choice. They have a fairly typical American style menu with a little bit of something for everyone, and the small bakery area has a good enough variety to soothe anyone's sweet tooth. My wife and I both had skillets and although my wife didn't necessarily like something about her steak (maybe the marinade?), we did generally enjoy our meals. I mean, they're skillets, so there isn't much to judge as most skillets are very similar and hard to mess up. The service was great, we were checked on quite a few times during our meal, with our waters being filled without having to ask. We would definitely eat here again if we're passing through Crystal Lake.“

That's to be expected at Culver's. When I arrived, I was greeted when i walked through the door. I ordered my food, a double sourdough melt with deep fried cheese curds. it was delicious. A few days passed, and I returned to the culver's in Elgin. I ordered a double butter burger. Chili cheese, fries, and a scoop with hot caramel and banana. These were also very good. “I've attended and hosted many events at The Quarry over the years. It's a beautiful space where I've made many memories and met new friends. Several years ago I hosted a surprise party for my sister's birthday and the Quarry staff made everything so seamless so all I had to do was show up with the guest of honor. Its interesting what they did to the place and from what I remembered of business that use to be in there. Stop in and have a drink or nibble... It's a small interesting place. “Places like these are based on service. Of course the food is great and the atmosphere is busy with great ambiance and the music is tasteful. But our server, Nick is the reason i will frequent this place until i die. He was attentive. Not once did i have to ask for a drink refill. Not once did i have to ask if the food would be ready and this was a Saturday night and the place was packed. For a young man like Nick to have such a positive attitude and suggest such great choices for us to eat, it’s unheard of these days. We had so much fun and were well entertained. “Stumbled across EPH doing a random Google maps search and I'm glad I did! They have an expansive menu of pub foods that surely would satisfy practically anyone. I had the Cajun chicken sandwich with goat cheese on a pretzel bun. The breast was huge and quite tasty. The goat cheese was interesting; not exactly my first choice but I didn't mind the outside my comfort zone choice. I paired it with Cajun fries for the perfect spicy combo. My wife had the Fiesta chicken, minus the bun, which she said she enjoyed. Definitely plan to go back and try more items on the menu.“
