“This is a somewhat hidden place in Highland. Unless you're a local you've probably never heard about it and how to get there. It's nearly disguised as a house since it's on a residential street which borders the business district. But either way, it's a great hidden gem. It's a great senior citizen's place, as they are open during certain hours. And in 2024, they will only accept cash - not that it's a bad thing. They do have a great menu, and some may say the food is not top quality. But the prices are very reasonable, whether you're coming here for breakfast and lunch. Service is great as well. Lots of Highland history on display too.”

“It's been a year since we have been back to highland. We made it a priority to come back to the Wooden Tie and they didn't disappoint us one bit! Took a group of six around 5 pm. We were seated right away. Service was excellent even with the increase of customers. Brisket was the main item but wraps and chicken nuggets were also ordered. Awesome home made chips. The vegetable medley is a must have! Side salads are well put together. We ordered giant pretzel sticks with a really tasty cheese sauce. Many more items to try but it is a must go to place every time we come back. Great food! Great people! And not too hard on your wallet!”

“Visiting from out of town and wanted a place to watch the Nuggets game. We stopped in and Dani(sp?) immediately put it on for us! He was super friendly and really went above and beyond for our group. The customer service was great and our appetizers were delicious! Highly recommend and will definitely go back next time we are in town.”

“The ice cream is delicious! Some unique flavors too! The employees are really really nice. They will have conversations and joke with you if you start talking. The place is full of bright colors and replicas of cakes. There are no chairs or tables inside but there are plenty on the square. They have little cups and cones filled with what I think is clay to show you what your ice cream with look like. They are definitely not stingy with how much ice cream they give you. Nor the toppings. :) They give you punch cards too! Definitely recommend if your in the mood for ice cream.Dietary restrictions: Don't eat if your lactose intolerant. I think they have gluten free ones if i remember correctly.Kid-friendliness: Just like you would expect, it's great for kids. It's ice cream!”

“It’s just a terrific bar and grill. The flattop grill is so well seasoned, the burgers are delicious. Chili is great but only available in cooler/cold months. Sloppy Joes in warm weather. If you’re nearby, it’s a must-do dining experience.”

Its swirling ice cream cone storefront catches the eye.The food is very reasonably priced, and was much better than I was expecting. “I have deemed Highland Scooters to be the best Scooters in the area. I have been to Greenville and Edwardsville Scooters and neither compare. Highland always has the best cooked and represented food out of those locations and they have never messed up my order.”

The owner holds many events for his customers throughout the year, helps out with the community with charities and host a lot of parties for many locals. The bar is well known for the Famous country singer Gretchen Wilson. The cute little bar is a local favorite! They have weekly specials and always have some tasty wings!”

“Highly recommend Copper Dock! We went on a Saturday night in mid-September. They were very busy with homecoming weekend and short staffed but the service was great! They originally told us we would have to wait 40-45 minutes and we really only waited about 20 while we did a quick wine tasting inside. Our server, Dawn, was amazing! She made sure we had drinks the whole time, our food came out quickly, and the cheesecake we had for dessert was absolutely delicious! We can’t wait to have an excuse to come back!”

“We visited the Chuck E Cheese. Parking lot is clean and plenty of parking. Some kind of construction happening right next to the dollar tree but was not an issue.”

“Always a hit with the family. The rolls and sweet butter they bring out are delicious. I always go for the meatloaf, but you can't go wrong with any of the dishes, and the sides are great too! The old buffet they had brought me in, and I miss it, but it doesn't change the way I feel about UF. The pies are amazing too!”

“Went to eat there today in Highland and had the Gyro Special and a soda. The portions were fantastic and filling, and I’m not a little eater. I did NOT walk away hungry.
