“Best bakery ever.“

“My wife and I have become a little picky with our restaurant selection but this place was great and the food was fresh, it has fancy atmosphere with decent pricing. We have come a couple of times with my wife for their lunch specials and they are the best. Pricing is very fair for what you get. We had the 2 sushi roll option and I had the Chicken pad Thai which was great. The server was a little serious and dry but it's been great every time.

Definitely recommend it.“

“My favorite place to eat in Grayslake and probably Lu even Lake County. I have been a customer for years and finally placed my first catering order for my daughter’s birthday party, the process was simple and easy. Pick up was fast and speedy. All the guests LOVED the sandwiches and pasta salad and the presentation was beautiful! Plus I got to try some of my favorite sandwiches and labrettis in smaller portions. I can’t recommend them enough!!“

“😀Great food, however, the “build your own burger“was a disappointment. The onions tasted bitter and very salty. I got the worst case of heartburn from this burger! OMG. Otherwise, everything else is top quality! Be careful when ordering this “build your own burger.”🍔 I’ve never tasted onions so bad, and seem to be imbedded into the meat that tasted so bitter and awful salty. In the Lakes region—where Italian options can feel uneven—this spot rises confidently to the top. On my most recent visit, I was seated immediately at a corner table, a small but meaningful luxury in an age of hour-long waits. The dining room, typically hushed enough for actual conversation, again delivered one of its underrated pleasures: a peaceful meal without the intrusive din that plagues so many suburban restaurants. Service followed suit—friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help, never hovering or rushing. The kitchen remains the star. My spaghetti with vodka sauce was outstanding—rich, balanced, and among the best renditions I’ve had anywhere in the region. Other entrées at the table echoed the same strengths: sauces with clarity and depth, pastas cooked with confident restraint, portions generous without tipping into excess. Cocktails, too, arrived promptly and properly mixed, further reinforcing the sense of a kitchen-and-bar team that takes pride in their craft. If there is a shortfall, it lies in the ambiance. The room carries a certain charm, but the décor feels a step behind the quality of the food. A refresh of tables, finishes, and overall presentation would elevate the experience from very good to genuinely special. The warmth is there—the aesthetics simply haven’t caught up yet. Even so, the value proposition is undeniable. “We were in Chicago for a visit from Texas and I decided I was really craving dumplings. I googled dumplings and Dangelas popped up. Reviews were amazing so we put it in the GPS and off we went. We arrived 30 minutes before closing but it didn’t matter. The best dumplings I’ve ever had. I wish I didn’t live so far away because I would be there at least once a week!“

“Highly recommend! Wow. What an experience at The Vegas Cafe in Antioch, Illinois. The food and drinks were excellent. We had the stuffed French toast, a skillet, pancakes, strawberry waffles, and a breakfast wrap. For drinks, we ordered hot chocolate and iced tea and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is truly amazing. From the hostesses to our server to the bussers, everyone was hardworking, kind, and genuinely caring. You could feel it right when you walked in. They wanted you there and treated you so well. Then there is the owner, Helen. She is an absolute gem. She introduced herself and spent time talking with us about her family, the business, and getting to know us. Even before she mentioned she was the owner, you could tell by the way she carried herself and interacted with guests. She clearly cares about her staff and her customers. When Helen found out we were there celebrating my mother’s birthday, she went above and beyond. My mom is still talking about it. We are so thankful to our server Callie, the owner Helen, and everyone at The Vegas Cafe. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back.“

“The evening we went it was very cold out so the restaurant was not extremely busy. This restaurant will be one of regulars. We shared small plates which were among the best we ever had. Wi has the bread, most delicious toppings, the tomotoes were outstanding. Along with bacon wrapped dates with pistachio. Llarge dates, with a warm honey sauce wrapped in bacon and topped with crumbles nuts. Equally good. The topper was the chacuterrie board. Best we've ever had. Uniquie cheeses and Meats along with apples, nuts and sweet dried cranberries. The owner explained about the cheeses and meats and where they came from. Very, very, good. And we enjoyed being informed. Our waitress, Jan was perfect. Introduceed herself and provided attentive yet not intrusive service. The chef stopped by our table as well. This would be our neighborhood favorite but is worth the travel, which was only 25 minutes for us.“

“First of all, Simon’s a great host who also loves to make software. We’re here all the time, and our team loves coming to Open Mic to work, be creative, and meet with clients. It’s a comfortable, welcoming space that naturally sparks good conversations and cool ideas—some of our best ideas have come out of brainstorming sessions in this spot. Sometimes we’re heads-down getting work done, sometimes sketching things out, sometimes picking up a guitar or playing a little piano between sprints. Great coffee and tea, a relaxed creative vibe, and always something interesting going on. It’s one of our favorite spots in Lake County, Illinois.“

“Franks for the Memories has officially stolen our hearts.. again! My boyfriend and I came back for our second visit, and it was just as amazing as the first. We ordered the boneless wings and fries with cheese sauce, and everything was absolutely delicious. The wings were packed with flavor, the fries were perfectly crispy, and that cheese sauce… heavenly!

Even though the place was busy, the staff had such a great, lighthearted attitude that made the whole experience even better. They were friendly, upbeat, and on top of it all, our food came out in less than 10 minutes! You can tell they care about both the food and the people they’re serving.

We’re so happy to have this gem near our house. We’ll definitely be coming back again and again! :)“

“It was our first time there. There were many tables open but they sat us right by the front door facing the door dash orders to be picked up. Then our server was abrupt and forgot to bring us our drinks until we reminded him. He was nice but almost like we were an inconvenience. Might have been better if we were sitting in the main part of the restaurant. Food was really good which is what made it a decent experience“
