“Came here off of a whim, we just got our marriage license and wanted to find a place to grab a bite on our way home. Picked this place as it had 4.6 Stars, and we can see why.

The cappuccinos were delicious (they are classic, so no added sweeteners). Added 2 spoons of sugar and they were perfect. As seen, no matter how many times we take a drink. It still keeps its foam head.

My lady got the continental. She enjoyed it. I got the eggs Benedict and I can’t see Hollandaise sauce the same again. As no hollandaise tasted as velvety as this one. The pancakes, which we both got with our meal, were as fluffy as a pillow, and as full of air as Aerogel. Great transporters of syrup.

All though my portions could be considered small for my Benedict by most American restaurant standards. It made up for it in taste.

“Highland Park's BACKYARD GRILL is a delicious counter order eatery. The servings are large and the quantity is deliciously excellent.

The cashier knows the menu and is familiar with the Ingredients. The short order, visible kitchen creates the meal quickly. Both vegan and conventional entrees are offered. Beef, chicken, and vegan options are available. The three in our party ordered gyros with pita, roasted chicken, and homus platter. They were delicious.

STUFF: Parking is difficult. I ended up using the city lot, a block away. This eatery has two levels connected with a ramp. Everything is ADA compliant.“

“A Big Shout Out to Happi Sushi in Highland Park. We were lucky enough to try a number of their apps and rolls. Every single thing we got was SO delicious 😋. Their sushi was fresh, tasty, and so yummy. The apps are unique and full of flavor. We just love this family owned restaurant. The staff goes above and beyond for each patron. “We traveled quite a ways to eat here since it is considered by many to be a great old school Chicago restaurant. We went for lunch and it was very quiet inside when we arrived. My kid commented that all the songs that were playing were on her playlist so she was thrilled. She had the sweet and sour chicken and I had the Kung Pao beef. Both were really good and the portions were huge. The meals came with egg drop soup which was excellent and then we also had spring rolls which were very large and really good. Service was very good and the food was reasonably priced. I do wish they still had the old neon sign out front.“
