A lot of Chinese American restaurants can have a sort of mass produced feel and use the same suppliers but you can tell a lot of love and pride goes into the food here.“

“Ate there for the first time tonight. I am vegan and my husband is an Omni. Chef Bill came out and waited on us personally, and gave us menu recommendations, all of which were delicious! The ambiance was so relaxing and peaceful; it was a nice respite from a busy day and I didn’t want to leave. Reasonably priced as well: shared appetizer, two teas, two entrees, and two desserts was $60. Will definitely be back for many more dinners!“

This is the best bakery and cafe in the area, with a delightful and inventive menu (try the rad hash), caring vibe, and an extraordinary amount of care put into every aspect of the experience. Items that are a weak afterthought at other cafes, like a side salad, are consistently fresh and delicious here. I have eaten at many of the best known and instagrammed restaurants in Chicago and I would rather eat at SBK than anywhere else.“

“I've dined here multiple times within the past two years and not only is the food extremely delicious but the staff here is upbeat, friendly and always delivers a five star attentive service to whomever dines in here.

You simply walk up to a computer screen where you can choose from a list of soup, appetizers, main courses like bimbap, bulgogi beef, scallion pancakes and other traditional Korean dishes.

I usually order a simple soup that's extra spicy with assorted vegetables, rice cakes and an egg. You can add extra vegetables, cheese or an extra egg to your order too.

The chefs were quite busy this evening with tons of pick up take out orders but I personally prefer dining in here and you also get an opportunity to watch the chefs cooking in the kitchen.

This evening one of the chefs pointed out assorted delicious sides at the counter that I had never noticed before. Basically you can help yourself to as many sides as you'd like before your meal arrives and they were extremely tasty.

The recipes are unique to this restaurant. We have eaten at other Ethiopian restaurants. They do not even register next to this one. The Proprietor is SOOOOO nice. And, ask him what brought him to the United States. It's an emotionally moving story. If you haven't had Ethiopian cuisine before, it is NOT scary. There are hardy vegetarian and meatatarian dishes. So, there's something for everyone. And, the dishes that are spicy are mild. So, don't worry about your sensitive belly. The meal is a SHARED experience. So, make sure you bring friends. “We first tried jianbing in Shanghai, and it was a magical experience to get it made right in front of us in a big, round griddle! And they were soooo cheap, like $2 USD. This place is a wonderful version that doesn't have the same magic, but the flavors are great, and there are many versions to match your cravings. The portion is big and satisfying for lunch or dinner. Friendly staff and nice, comfy clean eat in space.“

On great weather days, the outdoor seating is a great option. On cold miserable days, the bar area has a huge fireplace to keep you comfortable. The wait staff has always been top notch, attentive and friendly. Yes, you can bring your well behaved dog out on the patio and they even have a few menu options to satisfy their appetites. Parking can be a bit tight in the strip mall, so don't be discouraged if you need to park a little bit away from the restaurant. I will be back again in the very near future.“

“We had a wonderful dinner at Prairie Grass Cafe. The spring rolls were loaded with delicious perfectly cooked shrimp and the accompanying sauce (sweet chili with garlic and cilantro) plays nicely with them. The flounder with roasted carrots and parsnip-potato purée was as delicious as it looks. It was generously portioned and beautifully plated. We also enjoyed the mussels with parsley, shallots, and breadcrumbs pasta. My husband is Sicilian and it reminded us of the pasta con le sarde that we love to have in Sicily. The mussels were plump and delicious. The wine list is very nice. We found wines we really enjoyed and they were reasonably priced. We enjoyed the Attems, Pinot Grigio, Friuli, Italy ‘22 with our mussels and flounder, and the Fritz Haag, Riesling, Germany ‘21 with our pumpkin pie for dessert. Service was perfect.“
