“I love Pequod's so when I heard we had a place on the North Shore that was similar I was definitely intrigued. But also definitely skeptical. It's a small joint with zero atmosphere so it didn't look promising. But man oh man, the crust does not lie. Another reviewer called out the sausage and I have to agree. That might have been the best sausage deep dish that I've ever had. I almost wish my stomach were bigger so that I could have had a third slice. I can't wait for summer so I can truly enjoy a pizza on the sidewalk, something you could never do at Pequod's.“

“There are lots of things on the menu here, but one thing caught my eye. This apple-cinnamon pancake ended up coming out looking like some baked apple-monkeybread. Don't need syrup or anything. So tough to finish, and stayed hot the whole time I was eating it. Soo sweet ?, and such a nice restaurant. You will get your fix.“

“Always great and fresh sushi here. Keep in mind this isn't a sit-down spot and is strictly a take out place. Not much options if you were to walk in as you are required to order ahead (which can take some time ~ buffer at least 60 minutes ahead)Parking: Somewhat difficult depending on time. The free parking lot doesn't have a lot of space.“

“Visiting the Bahai Temple nearby, JPs was an easy walk and well worth the stroll. Immaculate and charming inside, with large rectangular checkered covered tables and benches perfect for family or casual reunions. The menu catered to a range of tastes, and designer Pizza selections were extensive. We ordered spinach salad with beets and walnuts, and the North Beach pizza. We watched our gluten free pizza dough being rolled through kitchen doorway. The cheeses were unique and exquisite. Easily the best GF pizza I've tasted. But there's more. Dishes were delivered to our table with personal care, and coffee arrived in a full pot - a dark roast freshly hand filtered. This cafe is full of surprises and a momentary journey to a vacation setting. Please add JPs to your secret get away list.“

“What a great surprise was this place! Me and my wife stop for dinner, and the food was delicious, the service awesome ( a server called Juan took care of us) he was great! Definitely coming back to this place. I have to say the french onion soup is 10/10 many upscale restaurants don't have a soup as good this one....“

“We've been coming here or taking out since the beginning. No idea why I hadn't reviewed before. The ramen is very good. I personally like the creative ones like the yuzu citrus broth ramen, but the traditional is great as well. The cucumber salad hits the spot. The bao buns are delicious and I like that they are priced per unit so we can decide what we want. The sushi is solid, though I don't thik I would go there just to get sushi. Good cocktail program, fast service, and of course, the vibe is nice too. Authentically Japanese, tonight we were reminded of our visit to "Ramen street" in the Tokyo metro station a year ago.“

“The Trendy Taco made the best chicken burrito ever!! The price was incredible for the portion. I was the only person eating in the restaurant, but they had lots of to go orders being picked up. They had authentic music playing and gave me a bottle of their salsa while eating. The staff was incredibly friendly. Please keep in mind it is CASH ONLY.Parking: Free parking at village hall after 5 pm with no restrictions.“

“The pizza is the best in town in our opinion. Big Tomato is a long-time favorite of ours. They lose a star because delivery is chronically late. If we order for pick-up, they're really timely. Delivery is a problem. It's become routine for us to call 15 minutes after our order was due and have the delivery made a few minutes after we call. How long has our food been sitting there before they have to be reminded to deliver it? It's incredibly frustrating. Recommend you schedule your delivery order for much earlier than you need it, then plan to call them to remind them to send it out.“

“Really can’t think of anything that was missing from our visit to Neapolita! Came here for a quick bite before catching the train and sat at the bar for a glass of wine, the burrata, and a bowl of the kale and bean zuppe. It was outrageous how simple and delicious those things were, so I ended up ordering a pizza to go! The pizza had to be reheated but it was still amazing. I’d love to go back. Thanks for such quality service and food!“

“Salmon teriyaki dinner has been family favorite for years. The way it is cooked- the fish is buttery and sauce is balanced and I eat the skin- so delicious. Tempura, shrimp and veggies, is light and crispy. Love unagi Q, New Mexican role and Bob's roll with the smoked salmon, cucumbers and cream cheese. My favorite is the mackerel, broiled and also teriyaki. Have had sashimi dinner and the fish has always been fresh. Love Akai Hana- have been coming for years.Kid-friendliness: If you ask, the waitress will give extra tofu in the miso soup. My son has been doing this since he was 3, and the waitress remembers. He loves the gyoza and can eat two orders. He is now 17.“

“We had never visited this restaurant before last night and wow, it was fantastic. Our server, Justin, couldn't have been more gracious or accommodating to our needs, despite having to cover many other customers. My wife asked if he ran track, and yes, he used to be on the team in school. We asked for his chicken recommendation and he clued us in to a wonderful dish called Flower chicken. Tender white meat, simple vegetables and a delightful, light sauce. All the food was fresh and flavorful, the atmosphere was relaxing on a busy Sunday evening and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. We will be back.“

“I have eaten at Pescadero on multiple occasions and each time the service and food are spectacular. I particularly enjoy when they host special dinners. For instance, last night, they hosted their first Double Clutch Brewery + Pescadero beer pairing dinner and it was incredible! The care for authenticity and passion of both the chef and the award-winning Master Brewer for their crafts really made it special. The chef even contacted the oldest brewery in Germany that is famous for their Rauchbier to inquire about their famous blue sausage. In the end, the German brewery's chef gave Pescadero's chef the recipe, making us feel transported to Germany! I'm also quite picky about seafood and theirs always tastes fresh and high quality. The staff is very friendly and attentive as well. When entering, it feels warm, welcoming and intimate. I would highly recommend visiting!Dietary restrictions: They have been great about accommodating friends' dietary restrictions/allergies“

“We came on a Friday night for date night and got the ahi jalapeño appetizer, hubby got the beef bourguignon and beet salad and I had the duck risotto. Everything was absolutely delicious, jalapeños were on the spicy side.We got a table without a reservation quickly and loved the quiet classy atmosphere. Candles & flowers were nice touch. Will definitely be back with the kids! ?“

“Don't be fooled by the appearance! Behind the modest dining area with 3 tables and a narrow counter is hiding an amazing Japanese chef who is not only brilliant in delivering the highest quality of sushi and sashimi, cooking delightful hot dishes but also pays close attention to the presentation of his creations. My sashimi selection was delightful and miso soup very tasty. The nice nod to the classic Japanese cuisine was a delicious assortment of Japanese pickles. My husband loved the incredible dressing of the house salad, the right consistency of the egg rolls, and the freshness of the shrimp tempura roll. He was particularly fond of the rich flavor of his gyoza. Kelly made us feel very welcome at her restaurant. We cannot wait to be back at this hidden gem! Bravo, Akira-San! Save our table“
