“I recently was visiting Chicago and as a habit, I searched for Best Gluten Free bakery and discovered Defloured. What an amazing place. As a Celiac, finding good GF baked goods is rare to find. Wow what a selection. I purchased a chocolate cupcake, two love pucks, cinnamon rolls, poppy lemon bread, baguette, and aNutella sandwich cookie. Everything was really delicious. I mean world class quality. I now plan on making regular visits to Chicago so I can load up and fill my freezer with possibly the best GF baked goods in the U.S. I’ve tried a lot.“

The recipes are unique to this restaurant. We have eaten at other Ethiopian restaurants. They do not even register next to this one. The Proprietor is SOOOOO nice. And, ask him what brought him to the United States. It's an emotionally moving story. If you haven't had Ethiopian cuisine before, it is NOT scary. There are hardy vegetarian and meatatarian dishes. So, there's something for everyone. And, the dishes that are spicy are mild. So, don't worry about your sensitive belly. The meal is a SHARED experience. So, make sure you bring friends. “So this place was absolutely a great experience for us! I used to come here when I was younger. Now I'm able to bring my child here simply because they have non-dairy and peanut free options. When I initially called the woman that answered was so patient and even mentioned that when I arrived, I could ask the worker to please wash the serving spoon. So when we got there we were immediately greeted, and we explained that our child had allergies, they showed us the options and gave us samples to try we asked that the spoon be washed and without hesitation they did so. Good ice cream, great atmosphere and options for everyone. We will continue to come here. My 4 year old loved the lightning clouds on your ceiling. 🙂“

Water was never refilled until we were through eating. When first ordering our wine we had problems. I will continue to eat here and hopefully this is a one time occurrence.“

“I had heard Monti's was the best place to get a Philly in Chicago, and since I've been craving one lately, I had to give it a try. I can honestly say it's the best Philly I've had in Chicago and the surrounding areas. It definitely did not disappoint.
I ordered mine with extra mayo and white American cheese, and it was absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly, the service was great, and the whole experience lived up to the hype. I highly recommend giving Monti's a try if you're looking for an authentic Philly cheesesteak!“

“This is not technically a review of their baked goods, which are undeniably amazing and baked with love as you’ll see in this story. Jennivee's Bakery , LLC’s AMAZING staff saved my dogs life!! This past Friday, one of the owners, Andres, the bakery staff, and an amazing group of dedicated bystanders rescued my dog, Mo, who had run off in Oz Park and was missing and in danger for hours prior to his rescue. After seeing Mo dart into traffic multiple times, this amazing group of strangers was able to corner him, and Andres bravely was able to grab him. He and the team at Jennivee’s then sheltered him and calmed him as long as it took and were ultimately able to bring him to Bond Vet who scanned his microchip and got in touch with me. My dogs are basically my kids. I pour allllll of my love into them. I still can’t believe how lucky we got and how close of a call this was. We’re shaken but relieved and endlessly grateful to Andres and everyone at Jennivee’s!!! Run don’t walk to get yourself some amazing treats and support this incredible business and the people in it!!!!“

“So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

This cake was vegan so I was a little unsure how it would taste, but it was absolutely decadent and delicious. It was a showstopper at the party making it feel extra special, and was a huge hit with everyone in attendance. The Sugar Daddy team are really talented and put a lot of care into their work.
