“Met family there for lunch. Typical bar and grill. Food was good. My husband and I split a bacon cheese burger basket and the burger was delicious. Waitress was ok. Made a comment when she had to go back and get a refill. Was also shocked when a family came in with small children and she delivered a burger basket to their daughter with a steak knife stuck in it. May just me but I would never deliver food to a child with a knife. Other than that I would go back.”

“The Best in Oregon well it's kinda the only but I travel a lot for work and eat at many Mexican restaurants this is up there with the top ones. Charlie is the best too!!!”

“This is now my go-to when visiting family in Ogle county. Great portions for the price, and it's fast and delicious. The lunch/dinner specials are always a great deal. They serve breakfast all day. Good vibe, cool murals, near the river... what's not to love?”

“Fun bar, first time there. Drove an hour to see a friends band play Saturday night. I didn’t walk all around the bar to see all it has to offer. Just a heads up for the woman’s bathroom, light switch is outside the bathroom. ?This summer we will get some friends together & head up on the bikes to try the food.”

“Vicki goes out of her way to help people! Her food is amazing! I lost all the stuff in one of my chest freezers this last week. (Thank God, it was my veggie and garden one and not the meat one). I called Vicki's and asked if she had any beets still for sale. She sold me 7 qt. bags out of her personal freezer! Not many businesses would do that, or go out of their way to help someone. Bless you Miss Vicki. You need to try her bake goods or catered food. It's delicious!”

“Bartenders are friendly and remember what you drink. Good selection of music on the jukebox. Crowd is a random mix of young and old. 3 pool tables, 2 dart machines, 6 gambling machines and a shuffleboard table. Plenty of parking. Street parking in the front, parking lot in the back. Like every bar there are some exceptions but it's a nice relaxing environment most of the time.”

“We had just finished church, and were looking for dinner. We hadn't been to La Vigna in a while, so we thought we'd go there. This place is south and around a mile east of Oregon. If you don't know where it is, use your GPS and you'll find it. It's a quaint location with low ceilings, good smells and good food. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted and then seated in the back dining room. The lighting is provided by sconces on the walls, and a lot of Italian lights strung from the ceiling. It's brighter than "romantic" by a little. The menu was interesting - we started with a grilled Portobello Mushroom which we shared, which was in an interesting sauce. I added some parmesan (shaker on the table) which made that even better. While we were waiting for that, a tray of warm bread was provided. Oil and shredded parmesan cheese were already at the table. Yum! Entrees are served with soup or salad - we both had the salad with Creamy Gorgonzola dressing, with the extra crumbles on top. The greens were very fresh, and the dressing was tasty. I went for their Filet Mignon, medium rare, which was served topped with mushrooms and marsala wine sauce. The steak was properly cooked to order, and was quite tender. My wife ordered their Scampi Picatta, which was loaded with shrimp and she said was very tasty. The wine list is a little light with 5 different "house" wine brands, but they did have two different upscale bottles - we went for the Pinot Noir, which hailed from France and had an interesting parchment brochure hanging from a ribbon on the label. For desert, my wife had a cannoli, and had their Raspberry Sorbet. The cannoli was authentic and tasty, but the Raspberry Sorbet was very good. If you like Raspberry sorbet, this is the place to get it. It was very rich. The place was pretty quiet noise level wise, We could hold a normal conversation. The floors are carpeted, which helps.”

“My first order was to go. I had read and heard about the Chicken Jockey so I had to try it. I got the dinner (that came with 5 pieces) baked potato, side salad and 2 dinner rolls with butter. I took one bite of the Chicken Jockey and my mouth started to water. It's the best chicken that I've eaten in a very long time. The portion is so generous that I got several meals out of it. I couldn't wait to eat my next meal. All of this delicious food cost me $16. I'm really looking forward to going back soon. ?”

“Alfano's has been a favorite restaurant in our family for a long time. We've never had a bad meal. We have friends from Monroe (WI) who drive past several Italian restaurants to eat at Alfano's. It's their favorite, too. I took away a star for the atmosphere because of the gambling area. It is private and quiet, but it takes up some of the previously available dining area.”

“Jen’s bread is the best you will find. I have bought her bread probably over 50 times at this point. The bread has never disappointed me or my family or my friends. The service is always perfection. If you can’t get to the store they deliver other places which is awesome and incredibly convenient if you can’t get to Mount Morris. Thank you Jen for making such an incredible product for my family. “Had Drunk Chicken with Zing sauce and it was amazing! Just a little spice with the sweet sauce, loved it! Chicken was great, onion rings were burnt. You win some, you loose some. The onion rings made it 4 ☆ but the chicken was 6☆!”

“I recently moved to this very small town. I was looking up restaurants and stumbled upon this one. I looked at the photos and read some reviews and I had to give it a try. I'm SO glad that I did!! When I called to place my order for pickup, Brittany answered all of my questions and she made sure that all of my special requests were fulfilled. When I got home and saw my Meat Lovers Skillet and my pancake, I couldn't believe my eyes!! It looked so good. I couldn't wait to try it!! OMG!! It was absolutely delicious!! I literally had to force myself to stop eating it!! My two little Yorkie girls were begging for some so of course Mommy had to share. They said it was Woofing good!! I'm looking forward to ordering it again as well as trying other things on the menu. Thanks again Brittany for making my first experience a spectacular one!!”

“Attended the Haunted Murder Mystery Dinner show and tour, so much fun! Definitely recommend! The ribs by mayor Mike were fall-off-the-bone delicious! Creep vibes 10/10! Such an iconic place to visit and learn about the history of Oregon.”

“My first order to go was absolutely delicious. ? I had the meat lovers omelette (ham, sausage and bacon) with hash browns and a biscuit with sausage gravy on the side. It was so much food that I had breakfast for another 2 days!! It's well worth $10. The service was friendly when I placed my order and when I picked it up. I'll definitely be back.”

“We visited this restaurant for lunch during the week. Service was excellent, food quality excellent, authentic Tex-Mex. Try the Chile Rellenos, they are authentic, and most Mexican restaurants can't do them right. Tacos are crispy shells, not wimpy shells, and meat is top quality. Byron is the hidden gem of the Sauk Valley.”

“My college son had to use this coffee shop/Internet cafe for a late night e-class. I stopped in to grab a cup of coffee and for a little relief from the cold rain. It was warm, cozy and smelled rich with coffee. He was able to get his 4 hour class in comfortably. The slot machines are on the other side of the establishment and were no bother to his studying. Perfect for what we needed it for!”
