Pollyanna Brewing Company - Lemont Brewery • $$
431 Talcott Ave, Lemont

“Wow, just Wow! Taproom was beautiful. Beer was awesome. The guy hosting trivia had everyone enjoying themselves… but the crown jewel of this place was the bartender, Randy. He was attentive, friendly, and SUPER knowledgeable… He asked our tastes, and recommended the PERFECT beer for each person in our party. If I could leave 10 stars, I would. This was my first experience here, and surely won’t be my last. EXCELLENT beer and EVEN BETTER service!!!!“

Bubblehouse Brewing Company Brewery • $

“Lots of beers, lots of seating, lots of fun. A taco food truck comes later in the day, which is great. (The food truck people are great, btw.) The beer selection was diverse and tasty. It was kid-friendly. The servers and owner were nice. Never waited more then a few minutes to get a beer, even though it was packed.“

Black Horizon Brewing Company Brewery • $$
7560 S Quincy St, Willowbrook - 6.18 miles

“I frequented over 67 breweries in Illinois and there is a man named Alex who is the head brewer and has amazing creativity there and has a big heart. I initially met Tony who is a Metalhead, kind, educated and a has strong beer recommendations to give all day. Amazing dude, he is the sales manager who doesn't make you feel anything but like you belong. I met who I thought was just a bartender named Derek, this man helped solidify this brewery for me as a top 3. He educated me in beer ingredients, processes and I found out he is one of the other brewers highly knowledgeable and kind. When I visited I met Kevin who greets you kindly and is a guy you must meet. Stephanie a kind woman who is great with people and what she lacks in height she makes up for with a big heart.I'm turning 40 this year and am excited to always meet new faces at this place. Charles is another owner who has his own form of kindness, but all together I love this place. They don't have a kitchen which I love but recently added pizzas which are a decent addition to have with beer. This brewery is such a warm place to stop and visit, their flagship is Midnight Fist Fight which is amazing. There is a great variety of beers. I got to meet the locals and connected with the BHBC regulars who are awesome.I'm a huge fan of the beer and service, it's a black owned brewery and I was stoked to support it.Their merch is I have purchased every shirt, hoodie, and hat they have marketed because Alex, Kevin, Tony, Derek, Steph and others there have made it a home for me. Every time I leave work, I hope to stop by for Alex's new creations. At age 39 I am a fan boy, they get busy sometimes like other breweries. Be patient and enjoy a top pick for product, staff and merch.“

Whiskey Hill Brewing Company Brewery • $$
1115 Zygmunt Circle, Westmont - 7.11 miles

“Found out about this brewery in Westmont and came to try a few beers. It's in a pretty hard to find location in some industrial area, the worst thing about it. Whiskey Hill is a funny name, as this place has beer, not whiskey. Oh well, what they have is still good. There's a pretty good selection including some hoppy and sours. A lot of breweries are in kind of strange areas. It's the case with this one. This is located on Vandustrial in a building it share with some offices and whatever. Lots of trucking companies around here. There's semis parked along the street. Anyway, the beers. It's about $6 a pour. It's not quite a pint but whatever. Even so, a pretty good price for a small brewery. Has many to choose from. Best was the 7 Mile Bridge. It's a Belgian Weisse with key lime, toasted coconut, and vanilla. A lot of lime flavor. This is almost like a sour to be honest. A pretty strong one at 7% ABV. There's not a whole lot on tap, but they manage to have quite a bit for a microbrewery to be honest. Get some beers on tap or take some of the cans to go. It's a small place but when it's warmer they have a patio. There's no food but sometimes there's food trucks.“

Skeleton Key Brewery Brewery • $$
8102 Lemont Rd # 300, Woodridge - 4.71 miles

“We had our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at Skeleton Key and would recommend everyone else that is looking to do the same! They were so helpful in setting everything up, helping us find a caterer, and were just incredibly thoughtful. They were easy to coordinate with and thought of everything - one of the easiest vendors to work with. Our guests loved the atmosphere and all of the beers! 100% will be going back!!“

Miskatonic Brewing Company Brewery • $$
1000 N Frontage Rd c, Darien - 4.49 miles

“I've come here a few times. This brewery is a little tricky to find since it's located by warehouses. They have a pretty cool logo and the name is super interesting with a backstory. I liked certain beers over others; but the nice thing is they have lots of options. You could bring food and they have games like darts, board games and card games and shuffle board. And best part.... It's dog friendly! Just careful because it gets crowded and it's not really big“

Imperial Oak Brewing Brewery • $$
9526 Ogden Ave, Brookfield - 12.38 miles

“Came here late afternoon by myself while on a work trip. I got two flights and they really exceeded my expectations. With a flight I always expect to not care for at least one beer as much, but I really enjoyed each one I got. As someone who primarily sticks to fruit forward IPA’s or pale ales, the coffee/vanilla porter was amazing!“

Goldfinger Brewing Company Brewery • $$
513 Rogers St, Downers Grove - 8.47 miles

“If you want an amazing lager, this is the place. Tried all 4 beers and they were all stupendous. My favorite in particular was the Vienna lager pictured here. If you're going to only make lagers, then you need to do it right and this place does it to perfection. Highly recommended.“

Nik & Ivy Brewing Company Brewery • $$
1026 S State St, Lockport - 6.63 miles

“After hearing about this family owned brewery in downtown Lockport on the I'm Fat Podcast,I decided to give them a try .As soon as you enter you get greeted by the bartender . You go to the bar to order your beer. He was willing to answer any questions you might have or even give you a small sample to taste. They brew on site and offer about 12 different beers in 5,10 and 16 ounce pours. There were many regulars sitting at the bar and I noticed most of them had the 1853 Orange Creme Ale so I decided why not. I am glad I did! Delicious and refreshing with just the right amount of orange and vanilla. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is no food options are available unless you bring your own or order from one of the local establishments in the areaOpen daily with entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, this is a real gem.“

Alter Brewing Company Brewery • $$
2300 Wisconsin Ave UNIT 213, Downers Grove - 8.31 miles

“We had our wedding reception in the Barrel Room at the Downers Grove location in September. Lisa was amazing to work with from start to finish! She was responsive to my hundreds of emails (almost not kidding) and always available when I would reach out to look at the space. She helped me work out my vision for the space, was present during our rehearsal to make sure the initial setup was what I wanted and then was around the entire day of our wedding to make sure things went smoothly. We loved Alter before our wedding, but she and the staff are definitely a reason we will keep coming back and recommending events being held there! Also, not to leave out how awesome the beer is.“

“This is a gem of a local neighborhood microbrewery, with a very solid lineup of gastropub-type fare. Their beers are phenomenal. I'm normally a heavy ale guy (BARIS is my favorite style) but I have to say the La Grange Lager is one of the best lagers I've ever had. I usually get flights to sample multiple styles, and they do well across the light lager to dark ale spectrum. There's a nice back room (semi open to front) for families or parties or events, and they show off all of their various brewing equipment (mash tuns, boiling kettles, fermenters, etc) behind floor-to-ceiling glass, which looks really nice. The kitchen is open (always a good sign) and the food is good as I mentioned, although I'd challenge them to create some slightly more healthy but good options. Most of their food is really heavy and mostly fried. That said, I definitely recommend a visit to anyone who hasn't been. I've been here at least a dozen times and counting.“
