“I used to live in the Chicago area. I now live in Texas, and we can't get Lou Malnati's pizza. (So sad ?) We flew out of O'Hare after visiting my Dad in Wisconsin and stayed overnight in Vernon Hills. I was able to order pizza to bring in my carry-on back to Texas with me. It was just as good as I remember!

“We live 2.5 hours south of Lake Villa, but we were meeting some friends from Florida for dinner. They were in the area for their grandson’s graduation from Great Lakes Naval Academy. Found this place via Google and it had great reviews, with good reason. We wish we lived closer because it would be a favorite for sure. Probably the best bruschetta and lasagna I’ve had in a very long time. Everyone loved their entrees. We tried multiple pasta dishes and the pizza. “Another perfect date night at Del Rio. This family owned Italian eatery has old world charm and is redolent with nearly a century of serving simple, hearty fare to patrons. Simple in this case is a complement. The branzino last night was soft, tender, just this side of poached in olive oil, butter, and lemon, with a touch of sea salt and oregano and parsley. Nothing too fancy getting in the way of this tasty entree. Ditto for my eggplant parm with a side of pasta and alfredo sauce. Topped off by their homemade pistachio ice cream and a light, fluffy tiramisu. The gracious owner is on site most nights and greets guests with his special brand of jokes and anecdotes. He is a local treasure.“

“Wonderful experience! We brought our party of six to Saranello's for dinner on a Saturday evening. We were seated immediately with our OpenTable reservations. The hostess Liz was very pleasant and accommodating. Everyone including 2 children absolutely loved the food. We ordered the Arancini special and they were amazingly delicious. Our server Mike B is the best in the business. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. One of the managers Ari stopped by our table to say hello and check on our satisfaction. “We were so happy to find that Little Joey's was still here after we moved away from the area for 14yrs! We started getting pizza from Little Joey's when they first opened - our son Joey was 5 or 6 at the time, so it was perfect! Now, their pizza quality has remained very good! We love their Chicago style deep dish, simple pepperoni or sausage, or even getting a spinach and garlic pizza is nice. Most of the time we get a Greek salad to go along with the pizza. Our favorite local pizza place! (We just miss the delivery van with the phone on top when they first opened ☹️)....“
