“Dog n Suds in Grayslake is one of those places that truly deserves the support of the community.

Obviously everyone knows Dog n Suds for the classics—the root beer, hot dogs, burgers, fries and that old-school drive-in feel—but what really makes this place special to me is the people behind it.

Jason, the owner, is just an all-around great guy. He genuinely cares about his business, his customers, his employees, and most importantly, the community that supports him. As another local business owner, I know firsthand how difficult it is to run a restaurant, especially these days. It takes a tremendous amount of time, sacrifice, stress, and dedication that most people never see. Jason continues to show up, work hard, support the community, and do everything he can to keep a place like Dog n Suds going strong.

I’ve always had a tremendous amount of respect for business owners who don’t just operate IN a community, but actually become PART of that community, and Jason is absolutely one of those people. He supports other local businesses and organizations, gets involved, gives back, and genuinely wants to see Grayslake and the surrounding communities succeed.

And on top of all of that, Dog n Suds is just a fun place to go. There aren’t many places left that have the character and nostalgia that this place has. Grab some food, get a cold root beer, sit outside and enjoy it. It reminds you of what a locally owned restaurant is supposed to feel like.

If you haven’t been there in a while, go support them. Places like Dog n Suds don’t survive because of giant corporate marketing budgets—they survive because communities continue to show up and support good local people.

Jason, keep doing what you’re doing. You’ve built something special, and you should be proud of it.

I ripped open my bag in the restaurant to check if they had put my Culver sauces in there because other locations dont put them in, but this location did and im very great full for that because I pay .50c each for those. It may not be a lot of money, but it's still a payment that im making for a product. I hope I didnt offend the workers. Would order from here again, i'd just rather use the drive-thru“

“This is an amazing decades long family owned destination for the VERY BEST hot wings! The seating is comfortable inside and outside!
The wings are superb, meaty, fresh, cooked to perfection and sauced how wings are supposed to be. Great sauce choices and sides as well as other meal items.

I found this little gem in the late 80's and frequented for years.
I had moved away and hadn't been back in over 25 years.
It is like I never left, just as I remember.

“Regardless of which location you go to whether some if not all locations are owned by the same person/family, you can never go wrong with Sammie's.

Whether it's a Chicago-style dog, Italian beef sandwich, gyros, burger ( Samburger) or Maxwell St. Polish sausage, fries; Sammie's knows how to do it and they do Chicago-style grub extremely well.

First time ever trying this particular location was this past April and was definitely well worth the price. Chicago-style food is a way of life and a culture that should be practiced if living in the Chicago area.

Clean dining room with friendly service and delicious bites at still reasonable prices make this venue another hot spot for awesome Chicago fare. I wish for many years of continued boomin' business for the owner(s).“

“I don't even know where to start. We went after graduation with our sailor. It wasn't crowded and everyone was so nice and so helpful. We ordered individual meals and an additional deep dish pizza (which was DELICIOUS) and it wasn't too expensive at all. Everyone enjoyed the variety of their individual meals and we definitely loved the pizza. The customer service had a great hometown feel and we felt right at home.“

“I've been here three times in the past year and have been wowed each time. The employees are always nice and accommodating. The food is perfect each time, the bathrooms and restaurant itself are very clean, and the space is welcoming! “You can never go wrong with Luke’s!!! Everything is exceptional. They have a large menu to pick from. Some would say a large menu is bad, but it’s not, it gives you the variety to “always find something good to eat”. And…variety is the spice of life!!!

I enjoyed the Italian Beef Meal with Mozzarella Cheese, unfortunately, they put the cheese on the bottom and you can’t see it, heavily dipped, fries, extra, extra crispy and a drink. There was enough Italian beef where I could’ve made a second sandwich.“

Ordered our fries & tots crispy and they were done to perfection. The waitress was busy but she moved about so quickly and checked on us multiple times. Excellent all around. It was late evening on 7/12/26 - can't recall waitresses name.“
