“I have driven by Flatlander for years on my way up to Fontana, WI, and finally stopped yesterday for a sandwich. I felt like I was stepping back in time. Upon walking in, I was greeted with a warm smile and hello by five workers in this family-run establishment. While waiting for my sandwich, I checked the history adoring the place's walls. You can eat in, but I got my order for takeout. My club sandwich came with some of the best homemade chips I have had, and it was great! Don’t forget to grab a homemade cookie (chocolate chip was my choice, but they all looked great). In the future, we will remember that we can pre-order and pick it up on our way up. Shout out to the family for working hard all week and taking the weekend off! Thank you.“
“Great fresh food! I just had the “Veggie Patty Wrap.” So good! A Spinach wrap with 2 tasty Veggie Patties (warm). Added lots of veggies on top, cheese, and Chipotle Southwest Sauce.I also enjoy their subs, especially the “Oven Roasted Turkey”, the “Steak & Cheese”, and the “Veggie Delight”The owner and staff - Ashish, Nick and Geeta -are very nice and they make great subs, wraps, etc. I love ❤️ all the fresh veggies!I like the Subway app because I can save my favorites and order them with the push of a button, then walk in and pick it up. “Expectation level: It's a truck stop. The US 20 exit is the only stop between the city of Belvidere and Elgin (Randall Rd). Therefore its a frequent stop Pros: -This is one of the last stops before the burbs that the costs will be relatively low when compared to Cook County. Price per gallon can be anywhere between a 25 to 75 cent price difference -Convenient Subway inside, or McDonalds next door. Its strong in location and convenience access. 2 ATM's inside -Despite a lot of the negative posts about the rest rooms, they were vastly improved in mid 2017. Previous reviews were correct in nastiness in the past. I stop here for the restrooms a lot during my travels to and from Chicago and I find it comfortable Cons: -Is this place any better than most modern gas stations? Probably not. -Paid air compressor. I hate it when gas stations charge a buck for 3 minutes of air Bottom Line: -I can't speak for the truckers, but as a car commuter there isn't anything about this place that will "prevent" me from coming here on a westbound I-90 commute. If you want don't to stop here, no worries. Pick another gas station down the street or wait 17ish miles until the next exit :)“
“We ordered a 6’in carrot cake for our wedding and it was DELICIOUS. Our wedding was on Christmas Eve and they had it done the day before. We wanted to wrap and save some for our 1 year anniversary but we just could not stop eating it!They were super fairly priced and I will probably purchase a carrot cake every year now.“
