“I had a great evening at Vai's. The party room was fantastic. The staff was great and the food was outstanding. All the guests were absolutely delighted with their food. I really could not have asked for anything better. That's why it's the best restaurant in the city IMO. Thanks! You guys rock!“
“We stopped into this little place one Saturday afternoon on a whim while walking downtown Geneva. Such a cute place! We did a wine tasting. The woman who did our tasting was an owner, and you could tell how passionate she was about the Michigan and the wines. She was very knowledgable and the wine was wonderful! I got a cheese spread to take home. It's sun dired tomato falvored and I love it! Will definitely be back!“
“From the moment you step into the Tavern on Broadway, you're in for a treat. The ambiance is cozy, the service is prompt and friendly, and the burgers are to die for—the best in Aurora. But what truly steals the show is their incredible clam chowder: creamy, flavorful, and brimming with chunks of tender clams, it's a comforting delight that leaves you craving more. Plus, the creator of this masterpiece brought us this award-winning recipe straight from Boston. If you find yourself here, you'll enjoy not only a beautiful restaurant and delicious food, but also a spectacular view of the majestic Paramount Theater.“
“Wonderful drop in place. Great service, yummy eats (nothing heavy) and great wine selection. They even had decks of cards to play a fun game. Live music was nice, just a bit loud since the place is brick with no noise absorption. We'll be back.“
“Very cool place with amazing staff and a great selection of liquor. Awesome selection of bourbon along with friendly staff. The atmosphere is top notch. Such a cool place to hang out and relax after a long week. I recommend checking them out. Street parking and a parking lot just down the street available.“
“Came here on a Sunday night for the first time. We were delighted to see the "oysters for $1.50 all day" sign upon our approach. Yes, please! Josh gave us the drink menu run down. You will want one of each, but I tried two on this visit. The pink one is Familiar Places and the other is Confucius' Final Cocktail. Yes, the cookie gets a little soggy on one side, but it is soaked in a lovely alcohol concoction. No complaints. See photos. The menu is small plates. After the oysters, we had the fried white anchovies, grilled octopus (our test for any restaurant offering it and they passed with flying colors), croquettes - spanish style, and a small charcuterie plate. All fresh, and amazing. Loved the accompanying sauces for each dish. They will have outdoor seating for summer which is perfect. The seating indoors is intimate, but inviting and we never felt rushed. A great date night spot or a stop for a true, craft cocktail. The owner, Devin, was there and is also hands-on to take a drink order or answer questions. The kitchen staff prepares the food quickly, but it's obvious that they take care and pride in their preparation and service. We will back for sure!“
“Came here with friends. Ambiance was really lovely and warm set in a gorgeous old building. Good selection of drinks, service was professional and pleasant. The food was on the better side of average. Perhaps i ordered poorly. My Arctic Char was overcooked. Spatzle was drowning in sauce. My husbands slow-cooked ribs were good, the fennel in the lamb was slightly overpowering. The octopus starter was slightly overcooked. The shrimp bao was a winner. Desserts were delicious. The plating for everything was attractive. Would I return? Unlikely, given that we travelled for this.“
“UPDATE: We've been back 3 times since my first review and it keeps getting better. The hostess is cordial, friendly and sweet, what a nice change. Our latest visit we had Kyle as our server, super friendly, knowledgeable and spot on without being overwhelming. There were 6 in our party and he didn't miss a beat. Started out with Joan's Rolls, super soft, warm rolls with a chive butter, so good. 3 of us had the miso salmon, the other 3 had the apple & pear salad with a protein. Everything was delicious and done perfectly! We like how the chef changes the menu a little bit every so often.“
“I just had my baby shower at The Wine Exchange and I had to stop by to say a huge thank you to Bob and the team! The day was perfect, the food was absolutely amazing (I will forever dream of the french toast casserole) and a seemless process from start to finish. My husband and I will definitely stop by in the summer to enjoy the patio and the extensive selection of wines.“
“This is a really cool area in downtown St. Charles. Great place for wine tastings and the best exotic cheese selection around. Cheese with espresso, cheese with water buffalo milk. Really wild. Good selection of wines too. 50% shop, 50% 100% fun.“
“Not only is their food and service great, I have to applaud Duke's for helping out a non for profit and allowing us to takeover their back room. It was a perfect sized room and we had plenty of servers taking care of us. Thank you for being a good neighbor! We appreciate it! #stcharleswomensclub“

“We sat on the patio on a cold day. The heaters helped, but we needed to keep our coats on. It looks like a great space for warmer weather. Excellent Ruben sandwich ranked 8.5/10. Got a cup of delicious French onion soup for $2.50 with the sandwich, ranked 10/10 for that price. Overall, I'd give Preservation an 8/10, which would be higher if it wasn't so chilly on the partially enclosed patio. The cold hastened our departure. I'll definitely be back when it warms up!“
“I love going to Cooper’s Hawk, especially the location in St. Charles. Not only is the food and the wine scrumptious, but we always get great service. Our favorite hostess is Josie Skwarek. We know when we see her smile, it’s going to be a great time.“
“Came for lunch almost dinner… we had the flat bread which was wonderful, the eggplant appetizer amazing and my husband had a ribeye he loved it! Our server was great she was spot on, restaurant was clean and hostess asked where we wanted to be seated was honest this area can be loud, appreciative of that! We definitely are coming back my only issue was the menus were kinda hard to read in the dark.“
