“We were indifferent to Mora when it first opened several years ago. The food was ok but not great. We went back for the first time in years a few weeks ago and were absolutely delighted by everything. We returned on Sunday afternoon and continue to be bowled over inspite of the noisy laughter coming from a couple of women in a corner booth.”
“There's a reason the line here is sometimes half a block long. The scones and banana bread are out of this world but the Olive oil cake is among the tastiest things I've had. Regardless of the time of day or how crowded they are the staff is friendly and incredibly efficient. I've never had to wait on my order for more than a couple of minutes. Fantastic neighborhood gem!”

The lack of TV forces you to engage in conversation, and the staff are particularly helpful in steering patrons to choices they might not think of originally but end up appreciating. They’re a one-of-a-kind establishment with a one-of-a-kind staff, and you won’t be disappointed in your visit.”

“The restaurant was very nice. The food and drinks were tasty. The ribeye steak on the tostadas was a little chewy but the skirt steak was delicious. I mentioned that it was my best friend's birthday but there was no birthday mention at all and no dessert offered to her. I'm used to nice restaurants providing this type of service without question. I was disappointed!”
“My time at Il Vicolo Trattoria was excellent! It only took a couple of minutes to find a table at 5 PM on a weekday, and the wait staff was friendly, attentive, and answered all my questions. Warm bread and water came quickly, and the food was worth the 15 minute wait. For the appetizer, I had a green salad, which was very fresh, and for the entree the spaghetti con vogole (with clams); it was cooked just right and seasoned well. I had the pistachio gelato for dessert, creamy and delicious. A very good way to end the dinner. Overall, I can’t say enough about this restaurant. It exceeded my expectations!”
“Pablo, our waiter, was exceptional. During our first visit here, he warmly welcomed us and showcased impressive knowledge of the menu, even extending to items not listed. He encouraged us to customize our meal to our liking, and he certainly delivered! For starters, we chose the grilled calamari and Rockefeller oysters. The calamari was tender and impeccably cooked, steering clear of the typical rubbery texture. Opting for balsamic instead of oil was a perfect choice. The oysters were superb, not overwhelmed with cheese. I ordered the veal picatta from the menu, expecting a thin slab, but was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size. The angel hair pasta complemented the dish well, although I could have done without the mushrooms – a personal preference, which I should've mentioned. Nonetheless, if you're a mushroom enthusiast, they give you plenty. My boyfriend ordered off-menu, enjoying the Zuppe di Pesce with shrimp, clams, extra calamari, and rigatoni Diablo style in red sauce. It was absolutely amazing and satisfied his taste without being overly spicy. To accompany the meal, I had a glass of the house Chardonnay, which was light and buttery. Even my boyfriend, who doesn't typically drink wine, enjoyed it. Our heartfelt thanks to Pablo and the owner/chef Giovanni for an outstanding dining experience, both in terms of the meal and the service.”

“The four of us had a great time at this local gem. We had curry with rice, drunken noodles, and two orders of “chef’s gone crazy”—the chef cooked whatever he wanted for us and they were both pleasant surprises! Everything was delicious, and I have to say that their 3/5 spice level is a pretty solid 3/5. You could definitely taste the spiciness, but it wasn’t the main star of the show. If you like your food spicy, I’d say even go higher.”

“Great place to meet for coffee or breakfast, one of the few places in Oak Park that are suitable for a business conversation. So many cafes are too small, too loud, or too inconvenient to get to/park. It's spacious and has lots of room between tables for privacy. Drink choices are creative. I had the turmeric latte and egg breakfast bowl and it was delicious, very filling and freshly made. It's not a super fast place though, so don't go if you're in a hurry.”

Everything you want in a wine store that you don't always find, a great selection, very knowledgeable staff, great accompaniments like snacks and gifts, and a nice clean place that is extremely welcoming.
It's a great place to stop in the summertime and enjoy a cold glass of white sitting on the patio and in the winter time enjoying a nice glass of red sitting in the tasting room. They have lots of things that are not easy to find and what you would consider a gem! They pride themselves on having a unique selection different from the big box shops!
There are price points for everybody and everybody will feel comfortable shopping here.

“Visited here for the first time this past week to study. I got the Vanilla Bourbon latte which was fantastic. The barista was so kind! She answered some questions I had and was so helpful. Great environment to get some work done.
I returned again with some friends yesterday and again had a very positive experience. My friend accidentally knocked over her drink, but it was the same barista as last time and she was extremely sweet about it and remade the drink. HIGHLY recommend. Clearly a lovely staff and a great establishment. :)”
“I pre ordered a beef for pickup on your Buona App at 11:36 am and I got caught up with a lot of crap and did not show up until 8pm later that evening. The manager understood and made me a brand new beef with no extra charge. I love Your Beef and Other food that you have at the Oak Park Restaurant on North Ave. It is much better than the world famous Jonnies Beef which does not have the quality of Buona Nor the size and has gotten very expensive as each month goes buy. The restaurant is always clean and the staff has always been friendly. I have been going to Buona Beef for over 40 years. Thank You for everything you offer

“Got take out here. Used to live near the Penny's in Chicago (Lakeview) and would frequently get take out there too. Pad Se Eu was good except the broccoli could have been a bit softer/more flavor, seemed as though it was added after everything else was cooked. The red curry was otherwise good.”

They answered any questions I had and they were very phenomenal and explaining on which each individual item would do for your body as well I will be coming back and I recommend everybody to go there as their smoothies are phenomenal.”
“I've come here every few weeks since they opened for a loaf of sourdough - it's incredible, often still warm from the oven! They also have great baguettes in the afternoon, the coffee is high quality, and the pastries range from good to excellent. Cherry on top - the staff is kind, cheerful, and helpful.
I really like that they have a separate self checkout option for bread shoppers, it makes it easy to quickly pop in for a loaf even on a busy afternoon.”
