The cod sandwich was crispy, flaky & fresh with a nice soft roll. Everyone loved the beef sandwich and burgers. Some weren't crazy about the flavor of the sauce on the Spicy AF burger but said the actual burger was delicious (others did like the sauce- don't knock it till you try it). Sides & service were also great. We will return for sure. Only got a pic of the fish.“

“Its been decades since I had a breaded steak sandwich. To give you perspective, last time I had a breaded steak sandwich was in early 1990s when there was a Ricobenes on Lake Street in The Loop, at street level, downstairs from a Nevada Bob’s. If you know about this, then you are Gen X!!

This place was recommended by a close friend and it was fantastic!!! It’s a solid 4.6⭐️s!!

From what I recall, this breaded steak sandwich is just about as tasty as I have had since Ricobenes. Tony’s is excellent and messy as I have expected. Its very filling and well worth the price.

Also tried their italian beef, which was very good indeed. Balanced spices and saltiness was all there!!! But I do have my favorites that I lean on when I really need a fixin!!! But this was very good nonetheless.

This neighborhood joint is small and has limited seating, but the friendly staff made the dine-in meal a pleasant experience, albeit a bit confined. Most patrons order take-away. Will try to make it out again next time I am in the Midway area.“

“This place is so nostalgic. It reminds me of a special time in my life. When I was a kid, my mom would take me shopping near Roosevelt & Halsted Street in Chicago. I could smell burgers, polishes, pork chops, and grilled onions for miles. My mouth would be drooling, and I couldn't wait until mom finished her shopping. This place has good food. However, I am not fond of their French fries. They taste as if they are processed with a light breading and salt. Other locations still take the time to make hand cut fries.“

“I come to the oak Lawn establishment quite often, but haven't been there in a while due to work commitments . I was in last week and as usual, I ordered with Bill at the cash register. He jokes with me as he knows what I like, but more importantly, he was genuinely concerned that I was ok because he hadn't seen me in some time. I always get 2 shack burgers, and a drink. He calls me tht best dressed man in the place as I still get dressed in a suit everyday to go into the office. Great sense of humor.“

“I went here for lunch to try the impossible burger and take advantage of my birthday rewards. The burger was delicious. I will say I was charged for entertainment and didn’t know why. Apparently if you touch the device on the table you’re charged $2.99 that was a surprise. But because my server had already left for the day the manager couldn’t remove the charge but tried. So, he offered a card for a free appetizer or dessert AFTER a purchase though. Besides that the food was good and the service was great.“

“10/10 I've been coming here since I was a kid. One of those places that just doesn't change. And thank goodness. Cash only and open 24 / 7 never disappoints. Love getting their burgers with the cooked onion and spicy sport peppers. Chiefs kiss ! We drive out 40 minutes to get these burgers. Not a dine in but a cute little area to pick up a quick bite.“

Third , I hate dining in this place . The guy keeps checking to see if we didn’t make the tables or floor messy. No kind of professionalism. We do not eat free . The host on the other hand, told my sister that we had to move to a different seating because the seat we was sitting at originally is for more than two people. So we moved to a different seat. Two caucasian lady come in and sit at the same table we moved from and nothing at all was said to them. We later was told that we can seat ourselves, which makes this situation even more confusing. “Loved this place, the food was great and so was the service. I had the apple and cream cheese french toast. I ordered it without the whipped cream and powdered sugar and it wasn't overly sweet, it was perfect for me. The coffee was also very good and I'm picky about my coffee. They also offer freshly squeezed OJ. Their tater tots were perfectly crispy and so were their homemade chips. I will definitely visit this place again. I visited on a Friday morning so it wasn't very crowded but they had a few people there. I'm assuming weekends get busy so I would go there early.

Blake is an excellent bartender and host who makes you feel at home. He has a friendly personality and always has a smile on his face. Megan is a wonderful waitress who is friendly and outgoing. Best of all she makes us feel special because she always remembers what we like best. The owner (Roger) is a great person and always greets us with a big smile.
