“Well, I decided to give "Good Taquillas" another shot.We were in luck!Alexis was back, and the place was back on track.We ordered a couple of Dos equis lager draft, and this time, it was a draft, not a bottle!We also got the fish tacos. “My wife and I came here for our anniversary after seeing reviews for the place, and it exceeded all expectations. Even though we didn't have a reservation and they were fairly busy, they were able to seat us upstairs, where we had the room to ourselves.Everything from the appetizer to the dessert was prepared to perfection, and the staff ensured we had anything we needed without being overbearing. Everyone was friendly and helpful when it came to any questions we had regarding the menu. The prices were more than fair given how excellent each dish was.Can't recommend this place enough; my wife and I will certainly be returning when we come through the area again.“

“The atmosphere was great fulfilled with kind staff. The restaurant had great food and would definitely go back if I knew the service was better. My party had to wait for at least an hour for our food. The service was not too great; however, I feel and hope that it was just that day.“

“Mahi Mahi was great. Crayfish etoufee would have been great....except it was too spicy hot. Served with half the spice HEAT, and a bottle of spice at the table for individual tastes, would make it great. Tons of Crayfish compared to other etoufee samplings.Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy. Ramps into restaurant as well as inside.“

“Our waitress was excellent. She explained the menu questions that we asked, was attentive to our needs, but not so much to be annoying. The food was delicious. The brussel sprouts were amazing. It was on the high end cost wise, but the service and food were also on the high end.“

“Big JJs on University is a knockoff! They've stolen and just slightly changed everything (menu, coupons, etc) from this restaurant! Big JJs food always tastes like old oil used for everything; from fish to chicken, fries, etc. Always way too salty for everyone that I've ever served it to. And the staff, definitely, leaves a lot to be desired!These people are the 'Real Deal' JJs Original Fish & Chicken! They actually own a food chain and have kept them going because of their excellence. Their oil is completely changed every night in order to provide the best tasting food products/menu items. Everything is fresh, cooked with intent to please, and the staff (all of them, but especially my lil sista chic! Lol) are pleasant and very aimed to please! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!P.S. Lower score on the environment because it's kind of drab, but the food and service make up for that. Most people order for takeout or delivery than dine in from what I've seen anyways.“

“The service was amazing! Quite the characters serving in the bar area. Pricey, but that's pretty standard for good seafood. The staff recommended a fillet special the crab meat and a blue cheese sauce that was ridiculously good. I'd go back to eat that again in a heartbeat. Fun place and one of the best in the Peoria area!“

“Had grilled catfish and shrimp jook box. Owner may balk at grilling the catfish cuz it can fall apart on the grill, but insist on it. It was out of this world. Seasoning was Cajun style but not blackened, just great bit of heat. Shrimp cooked just right, rice excellent too. Really enjoyed it.Hard to find though, winter entrance is back corner of building facing both Walmart and Landmark, 4 glass doors labelled "Premier Event Center."“

“5 stars cause you're one of the few restaurants left. It's good food and i live LJS. They're short staffed I'm assuming because you'll be waiting about 15-20 minutes in the drive thru. But it's worth the wait. Although last time they snuck a piece of fish into my husband's chicken meal and he was definitely not happy. I mean, it's not that hard to tell their chicken from the fish. You can tell by looking at it but the fish smell snacks you in the face first so it's obvious. Still gonna keep going cause it's the only one around. They've only messed up once so that's not an issue for me. As busy as they always are, I'm impressed that it's only been messed up once. Good job LJS! I'll be back soon.“

“I cannot speak to the regular dining, but I will say that the banquet hall was very nice. The catered food was delicious, and the staff did an excellent job with our large group. 10/10 recommend if you have a large business, club, or family event.“

“I expected this restaurant to remind me of the old Boyd's Steakhouse. The food was wonderful, but the brightly lit, loud setting was disappointing.Our waitress was wonderful! Sadly, I can't remember her name. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The very large serving of whipped potatoes melted in my mouth. Our waitress warned us how big the serving was, so we split it and added a side of asparagus to split. Lovely meal, I just wish they would dim the lights some and add some acoustic tiles or canvas hangings to absorb some of the noise.Be sure to get a reservation, even for the bar, so you aren't disappointed.“
