Barbeque Restaurants near Peru

“Barbecue restaurants are slim pickings in the Oglesby & Peru area and most seem to be open Thursday-Sunday.Anyway I had the sliced brisket, slaw and cornbread.The cornbread was delicious and had a sweetened flavor. Slaw was good but was missing something…. Briskets are hard to smoke and finish to get the right flavor and end up with enough moisture without getting them too dry.The one I had was dry and needed sauce.If in the area again, I’d give them another chance and you should too.A coworker had ribs and he said they were delicious and were fall off the bone to perfection.“

“Ended up accidentally while passing through and couldn't be happier. Quiet not too busy place with great service, but the food was beyond good. Swear they gotta have chickens just chilling in the back cause the food was fresh and tender and good I thought Gordon Ramsay snuck into the kitchen to make it himself. Vibes good too they got a touch tube.“

“I had my wedding celebration dinner here, and we packed in nearly 60 people. It was an excellent and affirming experience. The owner, Lee, is funny and down-to-earth, he and helped us make our vision be better than we could have ever expected or hoped for. The waitresses were very helpful and kind and brought out the salad and BBQ and helped with our cake. The bathrooms are very clean, and the bar area is nice and cozy. Thank you so so much! We will never forget this!“
