“So I visited this place at least three times with a carry out order and customer service was awesome first time. Second I decided to go due to the good food and definitely the customer service, again awesome. Third, I enjoyed my food as always with recommendations from the young lady ( forgot her name). All three times I was either on crutches or knee brace. They were so sweet they helped me with my food to car an even told me to pull up to place and they’ll have my order ready for me! They were very nice to help me and for that I’m grateful. They went above and beyond. They made sure I was taken care of. So I brought my daughter there and she agree with the great customer service. “I placed an order to go. Was informed that there was a $3.00 to go charge and a gratuity would be added on the order cause it was over $100.00. After I checked the receipt, $18.35 was the gratuity. I thought it would be maybe $5.00. Very disappointed. Had I known this, I would have come into the restaurant and ate there had them provide me with service. I am a senior and that was definetly not right. I've already instructed my family not to get me gift card from Maple and Jam.“

“Lumes is always a bomb and vibe from start to finish. They greet us as soon as we walk in and everyone is always friendly and pleasant. When seated we are asked if the space is to our liking and the server brings waters immediately. We go so much that we kind of already know what we want unless like Me, you wanna try something different. The avocado toast was very different. It was loaded with good stuff! The salmon was kinda like sushi so it taste like sushi avocado toast with a little side salad if that makes since and it was huge by the way so I enjoyed only one piece and was able to take the rest home 🙂 If you ever had the shrimp & grits you know it’s a hit! In Wisconsin there’s a similar restaurant called Maxfield’s Pancake House that has food of similar quality and portions. If you’re a Wisconsiner who likes Maxfield’s Pancake House and you’re looking for a good meal in Illinois, I highly recommend Skyline!

“Three of us routinely indulge in breakfast at Diamond and are never disappointed with the great food and excellent service. Portions are substantial and made with top notch ingredients, served hot and fresh. Our favorite waitresses are Rachel and Teresa, but all the staff are good. I'm a huge fan of the pancakes, sausage and eggs combination, which is served at a bargain price including coffee on Tuesday and Thursday. Diamond also offers many lunch options.“

We are served a cup of soup (gratis) with every meal including breakfast (their soups are delicious). The staff is friendly & always accommodating. Our food is served hot in generous proportions & for the price (very reasonable compared to other restaurants of this kind), it can’t be beat. Greek owned, the hospitality & food is reflective of the Greek Culture, representing pride, family, community, friendship, kindness & duty of service that is offered to their guests. Service was exceptional, the waitresses were prompt and I was seated with no wait time.

“I have only been to this restaurant once. From the outside it looks like its barely hanging on. It needs some sprucing on the outside. The interior though is classic and traditional. It has an interior that Bronzeville's Pearls Place could really use and space that Valois in Hyde Park really needs. I can also recall how good the pancakes were. I can't say much about anything else. It's been a while. My hope is that they could clean up and modernize the outside. For this they may need an infusion of cash. I believe the outside is where the business falls off a bit I mean you wouldn't even think it was open for business. Its the only place worth eating at in the whole 8th ward. The area is filled with junk food options and it's a shame. I will be back soon.“

“First time Golden Bear in Lansing. The food and service was great. However, when I checked my bank account I was charged $9.98 more then the amount on the receipt I received from the register. When I went back the manager was very nice & helpful. She refunded the $. The restaurant receipt had the same amount. I pulled up my bank account & showed her the amount from my bank. We both thought it was so strange! Maybe the register malfunctioned? Again the manager was awesome!“

“While out shopping we always try to find a new spot to eat. Living on the southeast side in the Hyde Park area we ventured out to eat and found this location 8647 S Ashland. From the outside it looks small, but once inside OMG the menu and aroma was off the chain. The service and portion size were great. The prices were very reasonable and affordable. Another visit will be made.“

“Bialy’s always has a very friendly staff, atmosphere, and great food. You can essentially get anything on their menu (breakfast/lunch/dinner) from open to close. A small detail I always love is their refried beans, definitely far better than comparable restaurants.“
