My 6 year old Grandson and I spent 2.5 hours there today (rainy morning thwarted all holiday plans), .. of which a full hour was spent just talking and hanging with Maria. I know it was an unusually slow day (holiday / rain, etc), .. and this is not a customary thing. And I usually don't have such time either. But that's part of the sweetness .. walking into a place a little slower, more simple, ... and where genuine kindness (especially to the Kiddos) matters! The other Staff is also nice. My Family likes their food, desserts, and drinks. I've only had the pleasure of a scone and tea, and green smoothie (delicious*&* NUTRITIOUS), from previous visits. We were hoping to sit outside but the indoor ambience was lovely. All of our food was amazing and came out quickly. We had a hard time deciding on how to order food for two toddlers and the waitress stepped right in with suggestions and portion sizes. It really took the leg work out of ordering food and hoping it wouldn’t be too much/too little. This is such a welcome addition to the downtown Skokie area as there aren’t many decent brunch/lunch options so we will definitely be back and we hope Don Julio’s becomes a mainstay here!“

“We stopped by Conscious Cup while on a long roadtrip from Minnesota to a Chicago suburb to visit family. This coffee shop was so welcoming, with friendly, speedy service, and delicious food and coffee. I ordered tofu breakfast tacos and a decaf iced latte — and both were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is perfect for working, sitting and chatting, or in our case, spending quality time with family. I recommend a visit!“

My wife, Dr. Maryam, opted for the healthy avocado toast with a side salad and hot chai, while my son, Kamran, savored the mac & cheese. I indulged in the grilled cheese, accompanied by a side salad and mushroom coffee. The music, courtesy of La Tosca, was simply magnificent — bravo! Their violin and accordion performance was truly superb. Though I briefly spotted Billy and Chloe, I resisted the urge to fan out and ask for an autograph, thanks to Billy's timely disappearance. Nonetheless, Chloe greeted us kindly, making the experience even more enjoyable. We're definitely planning to revisit for the outstanding food, drinks, music, and ambiance.“

Our waitress was nice. Kind've reserved but pleasant enough. We had the Carne Asada which I ordered medium. It was very good. The beans and rice though we just okay. My friend ordered the Cozumel Shrimp Taco that he enjoyed. After we received our meals, we were asked if we wanted tortillas which, I had assumed, would just come with the meal so wasn't sure why they asked. Overall the restaurant is fine and we would return.“
