“I don’t just review restaurants for no reason. Culver’s is Culver’s in terms of food, but the employees here are exceptional. They are friendly, accommodating and go out of there way to make dining here a good experience. I’m not from the area but ate here twice in the last few days and was blown away by how great the staff was. Kudos to this location, they’ve got it figured out.“

“Grew up eating porkies. Glad to see their food and prices still beat others. Home cooked food and great prices. 3 dinners cost me $23. Anywhere else I go the least I pay for 3 dinners is $40. Do not sleep on porkies! Breakfast and dinner, both are good and never disappoint.“

“My husband and I live little over an hour away. We enjoy coming to the quad cities often. We by chance decided to try out Monarch Kitchen + Bar based off of their rating. All I can say is I am so impressed. Impressed with the care and quality of food. The wait staff are amazing. I am a person who doesn’t use seed oils at home. To know I can go out and eat somewhere and know the ingredients are fresh and good for you means everything. We stayed two days and ate there for lunch and came back the next day for dinner. We loved the lo mein and the garlic aioli fries, but honestly everything we tried was amazing. It is now our new favorite restaurant in the quad cities. We will definitely be back and will tell our friends. Thank you for making our trip even more special!“

My husband ordered a Root Beer float to go at the end of dinner, when she found out we were at a hotel in town for the Eagle Fest, she even included a cup with extra Root Beer. ❤️“

“Just had a wonderful dinner at Tuggers. My husband had the meatloaf, and I had the rice bowl with seared tuna…fabulous and plenty to bring some home for lunch tomorrow. The vanilla crème brûlée old fashioned and warm apple dumpling cocktails were delicious. Our son had a burger and fries and had room for the fried cookie dough, or thought he did. He revived 3 large pieces along with a glass of milk (nice touch!). The service was fantastic, and our meal arrived quickly. Would highly recommend!“

“Yesterday, Thanksgiving 2025, we experienced the Riverfront Grille for the first time. The staff were happy to see us, friendly and very attentive. Second, the food was outstanding. Turkey and ham were done to perfection, a variety of salads, soups and sides were homemade and delicious. Lastly, the overall experience (including desert) on a busy day was wonderful. “Last night we went to Chevin's Kitchen and Catering located inside Kavanaugh’s Hilltop Bar and Grill in Rock Island. This is the second time we have stopped in recently for the daily special. We are so glad we did. From the prompt greeting by the servers and bar staff to the made to order burger sliders with fresh cut fries everything was AMAZING! Our servers were on top of it and so friendly. The food was GREAT! “We chose Beef + Bourbon for our anniversary dinner yesterday. We made reservations ahead of time, and made a note with the reservation that it was our anniversary dinner. I'll get my disappointment over with first and move on to all of good. I wasn't happy with where we were seated. For whatever reason, we were stuck in the bar area. Our view to the left was the parking lot. The view to the right was the bar, which came with its own set of noise. And since we were on a main pathway, it was hard to have any conversation with the traffic and noise passing by every few minutes. I think I was expecting to sit in the beautiful other spaces they have available with dim lighting and a more romantic vibe, especially for an anniversary dinner. The food was absolutely mind blowing. Everything we had was cooked with so much thought and care. The beef medallion and crab cake appetizers really set the stage for the main course, which consisted of ribeye for both of us. Absolutely the best steak I've ever had. Tender, juicy, seasoned to perfection. My husband enjoyed asparagus with hollandaise as a side. I enjoyed a salad. Everything we devoured was absolutely top notch. Our waiter was awesome, Travis. He definitely took care of us as far as service. Very nice gentleman. I would give the food a 10000/10. I hope to be able to go back and give the ambiance another try. My fault for not speaking up while there or having the wrong set of expectations.“

Saved the backed potato for dinner and the rest of sandwich.“

“I was at the bar when the incident occurred with the customer vaping. Owner asked him politely to please not vape. The customer was unnecessarily offended even though there were signs stating no smoking or vaping. Riverside is very friendly and welcoming- veterans included. Great food, great staff!“

After being served the best breakfast, by the friendly staff, I was surprised this place wasn't packed for breakfast. It's got a great atmosphere and wonderful staff and good, hot food. “It's nice to have MLK day off from work - three-day weekends are great from school, and their just as good in adult life. After a day spent largely across the river in Rock Island and East Moline, I took a rest at home. I needed a night cap and some dinner however. What better way to accomplish both of those things than a quick trip out to a nearby bar?I have no other reason to traverse Central Avenue in Bettendorf. I live within a 5 minute drive of Central Ave Tap, but I don't need to visit Neil Armstrong Elementary, nor is there anything else along the road for me to visit currently. I've driven by before on my way to visit friends that live in the area, just never stopped in here ever for a drink or food. Well, that changes tonight - I needed a gin and tonic and a burger before bed!There's not too much to say about Central Ave Tap. Its a bar in the bottom half of a building all to itself. There're two pool tables, a few dart boards, and a long bar that runs the whole length of the space. Newish wood laminate floor covers most of the inside, as does the newer looking drop ceiling. There's a TouchTunes jukebox along the wall - one of the new variety that lets anyone with the corresponding phone app play anything they like with the touch of a button from their phone. Suffice to say, the space is well maintained and clean.I settled at the bar on my visit and got my gin and tonic to start. They only had well gin - Fleischmann's I think? - it was fine, made a good G&T. After a quick perusal of the menu, I settled on a burger and fries, both of which I got to watch the bartender prepare right from my seat at the bar. This was a new experience for me - the stove and, really, the entire kitchen area are right there, unsegregated from the rest of the space, to watch as you please. It was actually kind of neat, plus the food came out super fresh.I enjoyed both the burger and fries. The burger was a simple pre-formed frozen patty, but it tasted fresh all the same. The fries were crinkle cut, fried to crispy perfection. The total portion size was exactly what I needed for the evening - not too much, not too little.Given a similar urge, I'd come back here for another burger. It felt kind of weird just randomly coming here. The space had the distinct feeling of being a local pup, a sort of common space for mostly those that lived close by. I hope I didn't intrude much.
