“We chose Beef + Bourbon for our anniversary dinner yesterday. We made reservations ahead of time, and made a note with the reservation that it was our anniversary dinner. I'll get my disappointment over with first and move on to all of good. I wasn't happy with where we were seated. For whatever reason, we were stuck in the bar area. Our view to the left was the parking lot. The view to the right was the bar, which came with its own set of noise. And since we were on a main pathway, it was hard to have any conversation with the traffic and noise passing by every few minutes. I think I was expecting to sit in the beautiful other spaces they have available with dim lighting and a more romantic vibe, especially for an anniversary dinner. The food was absolutely mind blowing. Everything we had was cooked with so much thought and care. The beef medallion and crab cake appetizers really set the stage for the main course, which consisted of ribeye for both of us. Absolutely the best steak I've ever had. Tender, juicy, seasoned to perfection. My husband enjoyed asparagus with hollandaise as a side. I enjoyed a salad. Everything we devoured was absolutely top notch. Our waiter was awesome, Travis. He definitely took care of us as far as service. Very nice gentleman. I would give the food a 10000/10. I hope to be able to go back and give the ambiance another try. My fault for not speaking up while there or having the wrong set of expectations.“

A friend ordered the steak and said it was rather tough but took it home and put in the crockpot. Said it was wonderful after she did that. She asked for her steak to be smothered in onion and it was not. She asked for more and they brought her TWO SMALL rings!!

They seemed to be short on wait staff, or maybe it is just the norm now since they have an automated robotic cart that is used to aid in clearing tables. I don't know how it works but I saw it glide by several times and come back loaded with plates etc. It has a homing spot it would return to.
I'm sure it helps to some extent but if having it is resulting in cutting back on staff to assist customers with requests, then it is not an asset to the business. (Just my thought.)“

“My family and I were very well accommodated by Colleen (manager) and Erica (server/bartender) for what was an amazing area to host a graduation dinner for family and friends. This private, elegant area would also make a great space for bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, etc. I was obsessed and we were so so lucky to have exceptional service for a short-notice event. We enjoyed the broad selection of drinks from the bar and the delicious food. My favorites were the Mo’ Dough appetizer and the Fowl Play turkey sandwich.“

“Went to this place for the first time this morning. We are new to Davenport and needed to find a breakfast spot. As soon as we walked in they immediately acknowledged us even though they were busy. That said, for a busy place the service and attention was still top notch. From hostess to server, the handoff was flawless and we got our order in fast. We expected to wait a bit due to how busy they were, but we didn't. Our food came very fast. The server Amy was amazing! And from what I can see so are all of the others. Never an empty glass, always checking but never bothering. The food was outstanding. From the steak, to the eggs, to the bacon and sausage everything was cooked exactly as it should be. The portions are generous. My wife even took some home. Even the bus boys here are hopping and as soon as a table is vacant they are clearing it off and it's being cleaned and set up for the next set of guests. Definitely the place to be.“

The duck wontons are TO DIE FOR & that phoenix pizza is 🔥 ! The only complaint I have is the salad tasted like dirt you could tell the romaine wasn’t washed well or something cause I couldn’t get passed the overwhelming earthiness of my garlic salad . All the drinks were amazing & if I had to recommend just one it would definitely be the nerds martini! I will be back and I would definitely recommend this place for any birthday , anniversary or just a nice dinner! Don’t forget get a piece for that homemade cheesecake either 🫣“

“I like to order Belgian Waffles on Sunday, with a side of scrambled eggs! It normally comes with meat. They have been great about letting me switch that out tho. The price of eggs may have been the one thing that has come down 🙂 I call in my order, and pick up in 15 minutes. I really like that there is one in Bettendorf now! Don’t have to wait 30-45 minutes to get in. The menu has a great variety. They have crepes! “It's nice to have MLK day off from work - three-day weekends are great from school, and their just as good in adult life. After a day spent largely across the river in Rock Island and East Moline, I took a rest at home. I needed a night cap and some dinner however. What better way to accomplish both of those things than a quick trip out to a nearby bar?I have no other reason to traverse Central Avenue in Bettendorf. I live within a 5 minute drive of Central Ave Tap, but I don't need to visit Neil Armstrong Elementary, nor is there anything else along the road for me to visit currently. I've driven by before on my way to visit friends that live in the area, just never stopped in here ever for a drink or food. Well, that changes tonight - I needed a gin and tonic and a burger before bed!There's not too much to say about Central Ave Tap. Its a bar in the bottom half of a building all to itself. There're two pool tables, a few dart boards, and a long bar that runs the whole length of the space. Newish wood laminate floor covers most of the inside, as does the newer looking drop ceiling. There's a TouchTunes jukebox along the wall - one of the new variety that lets anyone with the corresponding phone app play anything they like with the touch of a button from their phone. Suffice to say, the space is well maintained and clean.I settled at the bar on my visit and got my gin and tonic to start. They only had well gin - Fleischmann's I think? - it was fine, made a good G&T. After a quick perusal of the menu, I settled on a burger and fries, both of which I got to watch the bartender prepare right from my seat at the bar. This was a new experience for me - the stove and, really, the entire kitchen area are right there, unsegregated from the rest of the space, to watch as you please. It was actually kind of neat, plus the food came out super fresh.I enjoyed both the burger and fries. The burger was a simple pre-formed frozen patty, but it tasted fresh all the same. The fries were crinkle cut, fried to crispy perfection. The total portion size was exactly what I needed for the evening - not too much, not too little.Given a similar urge, I'd come back here for another burger. It felt kind of weird just randomly coming here. The space had the distinct feeling of being a local pup, a sort of common space for mostly those that lived close by. I hope I didn't intrude much.
