“I really wanted some Ice Cream after dinner on the way home from work. I initially tried to go to Cones on the Corner, which indicated they were open (but they weren't much to my disappointment). I was almost crushed, but found that La Canasta Bakery & La Michoacana Ice Cream was only a three minute drive away in Silvis. Excitedly, I headed over to get my post dinner sweet treat.I don't think I'd driven to Silvis for anything in my life prior to this. The area around 1st Avenue is delightful - lots of little shops lining either side of the road, including this Bakery and Ice Cream shop. I really need to come back to visit again, perhaps for Frank's Pizza or Mr. Panda. The interior of La Michoacana Ice Cream was as delightful as the exterior. The furnishings are what you'd expect in a modern shop selling about anything - The floors were a new wood laminate of somewhat faded appearance, the ceiling area consisted of a drop ceiling with 2x4 foot tiles and florescent fixtures, and new displays behind the ice cream counter listed off all the products and associated prices. The mascot of sorts for the store and associated decoration was a sort of hispanic little girl chibi person - hadn't seen this before, but it was neat.I opted for two scoops of ice cream in a waffle cone. The bottom scoop ended up being a sort of cookie ice cream (not the typical cookies and cream) and for the top scoop I opted for mango ice cream. Both were pretty good - probably not worth driving all the way to Silvis solely to procure again, but if I were eating in the area I'd stop by again. It's a nice store with some solid ice cream. It definitely satiated my sweet tooth after dinner tonight. If I'm in Silvis again, I'd consider stopping by again. Thanks, La Michoacana!“
“Had a couple hours to kill during a business trip to Moline. Checked out Dead Poets for breakfast and coffee. Service and food were awesome. Good gluten free options. I'm normally a basic coffee guy but ordered "the poe" and it was excellent. Will def check out next time I'm in the Quad Cities.“
“These cookies are so good! We’ve always gone to crumbl just because that was the chain we were familiar with. Decided to try this place instead and holy cow, so glad we did. They were all so good! We’ll be coming here from now on for sure.“
“We had someone with a disability with us. And they wanted to do the ordering and the clerk was so gracious. She talk them through it. And what was in the items help them through the checkout process and the pickup? And he tasted the cookie said it was “
“I got a cake from Sugar Ala Mode for my daughter's birthday...it was ALL the rage at the party! My son who never eats any cake other than ice cream cake specifically went NUTS over it, they nailed this cake and I would highly recommend them to anyone!“
“Hurts Donuts Company is a very unique food experience since it has some creative, tasty Donuts that are very diverse with myriad of different flavors. Hurts Donuts is very similar to Voodoo Donuts (Portland, Oregon), but with a Midwest twist!“
“Tried these for the first time on my birthday this year. They were a gift from someone. I've never had cookies on a stick before! They were so cute. The chocolate chip cookies we also got were amazing. Perfect texture and density of chocolate chip to cookie ratio.“
“Giving 4 stars because I am espresso snob and I felt the espresso could have been stronger. My americano was very weak tasting and watery. Food, staff, and other items are great. I had an energy drink most recently, and it wasn't too sweet like other places in the area. I enjoyed it!“
“These are by are the best cupcakes I have had in a LONG time! I got the strawberry cheese cake and the cookies and cream! The cheese came one was a strawberry cake, cream cheese filling and a whipped cream frosting! It was DELICIOUS! You could awe the vanilla bean seeds in the cream cheese! She has a customer for life with me!“
“I remember really liking getting Bundt cakes from one of these Nothing Bundt Cakes stores at the previous place I worked in Eastern Illinois. Someone bought a whole bunch of them and brought them to my work once a year, and they were fantastic! I hadn't thought about them a whole lot since moving back to the Quad Cities, but was otherwise very surprised to find this location on a recent trip to a restaurant in the same shopping center. I had to go in and get a cake! The space this Nothing Bundt Cakes occupies is bright and new. The walls are a combination of yellow (either side of the store) and brown (the wall behind the register and display) with white beadboard on either side wall, as well. The floors are a shiny, light wood laminate throughout. Displays flank each side of the store with decorations and accents on the walls and displays throughout. It's exactly what I'd imagine a Bundt cake store to look like - I was delighted.I ended up choosing a small lemon Bundt cake - these were my favorite back at my prior job. The cashier helped me get one out of the case and rang me up quickly. They also had a dedicated scanner for Google/Apple pay, which was really great (I love using that from my phone). I thanked her and left with my mid-day dessert.I promptly devoured my Bundt cake in my car with my hands, like a savage (I really couldn't wait). It was as good as I remember them - the cake was moist and tasted of lemon and the cream cheese frosting was delightful. It was a very happy experience for me.I'll be coming back here for more Bundt cakes in the future. Thanks, Nothing Bundt Cakes!“
“My son was using your Bundt cakes as part of the way he was asking a girl to prom. He went over there to get 3 and I asked why didn’t you get them put in the cute bag? He said he forgot. So I send him back over to get the bag. He didn’t take the originally bought cakes because I figured I could do it for him. He comes back with 3 new cakes in the beautiful packaging. He said the lady wanted to do it for him and didn’t charge for the new ones. Amazing customer service! We love going there but was so impressed with helping my 17 year old. Thank you! Very much appreciated.“
“I had a great experience from the beginning to the end. I first called and explained that I was throwing a surprise party for my wife and I needed help. The young lady was nice and let me know when Amber would be working next and that she would be the best person to work with for this party. A few days later I met with Amber and she was fantastic. She helped me figure out which small desserts she thought my wife would like based on my responses to her leading questions. And she was patient with me when I didn't always know the answers. Once I told her the party size and my budget she really narrowed in. My wife is a foodie and loved the range of desserts. I'm very happy because my wife (and everyone else) enjoyed the desserts and I got brownie points which I'm always in need of. Thanks Small Town Pastry for making tasty treats and making it so easy.“
“Heard about Creative Pastry from a friend and decided to try their breakfast but was too late at 11:45. Decided to give their lunch menu a look and chose the chicken pesto sandwich with a carmel frappe. Both were excellent! Husband had their hamburger which was also great. Cute place and service was great. Next time, I will get there early enough to try their breakfast items.Definitely worth checking out!Parking: Adequate parking on side of building or you can park in front of business.“
