“This was our 2nd time coming to Zombie Taco with our kids and they loved it! Such a fun decor and not the traditional seating. It’s a bar-type atmosphere but it has a ton of old-school games that we can play (that was such a hit with all of us!) The food is so good and priced well. The drinks are amazing and really great customer service. It’s even kid-friendly! (Suggest going earlier though if you plan to bring your kids.) Our family LOVES Zombie Taco!!“

The brisket taco was so tender and had some kick to it along with the delicious flavors from their chicken al pastor topped with pineapples of course. “Hip and lively. The host/wait staff are super kind and funny; the downside is the volume of customer is likely what leads to slow service, which is important to some folks. Food tastes great. I ordered the Guatemalan breakfast, which I thought could have come with larger portions of the beans and plantains given the cost. My wife ordered the brisket bowl special and that came with an appropriate, healthy amount of food for the price. The winning order is the beef cheek empanadas with bone marrow. It’s like a beef patty but fattier and way more rich flavor. That’s a 10/10 given it’s only $5. We will certainly come back for the happy hour special (empanadas $3.50 + $8 margs).“

The best way to explain the atmosphere here is to describe the way you would feel at a bar at the beach. Very chill vibes. The bartenders are great. They all make an amazing drink every single time. Jess and the blonde girl (can’t remember her name) are super friendly and very attentive. And the food is great! Everything is so fresh and they use homemade syrups for their cocktails. Try the lobster ceviche and the fried oyster tacos. They’re delicious!“

“Found Nin's outside the Garfield Conservatory around lunchtime. My pastor burrito was cooked to order on the spot; the spices were well blended and the sauces included were slightly spicy with a nice complexity of flavor. The pastor had some chewy pieces, but seemed authentic and tasted great. It was fresh and not overly greasy. Each aspect of the burrito was thought out, from toasting the tortilla to balancing the onion and cilantro flavors. I would go back, especially since I didn't notice the handwritten sign adding green tamales and birria to the menu until I'd already ordered. If they're as lovingly handcrafted as the burrito, they'll be delicious too.

It's cash only and I wasn't given a receipt but I didn't ask for it and I saw that he shortchanged me two cents which just for the principal of the thing kind of insulted me so I didn't tip (I usually tip 30 to 50%) I'm not sure about the whole tipping thing if you're placing your own order at a register but they did bring the food to us and were very polite. They provided green and red hot sauces for us, EXCELLENT. My girlfriend cooks Hispanic food and is an expert on it and she loved the tacos. I got a beef burrito which was giant and perfectly cylindrical. That was kind of cool! Price was right especially for Wilmette. very happy and will be back likely often unless Kamala wins the election then we'll be cooking at home forever cuz we won't be able to afford it. It's all economics. The prices are very fair at this place. I was kind of looking for a nice little place we could frequent in the area and I think this might be it. They had fresh horchata. I don't like any horchata but my family loved it.
