“We visited The Graceful Ordinary in downtown St. Charles, IL, on a warm late September day. We had a wonderful experience at Graceful Ordinary, one that's hard to match outside of Chicago. From its comfortable yet elegant design to the unique menu, every detail was carefully considered. The food was delicious and thoughtfully presented, and the service was excellent. We were fortunate to visit on a very warm day towards the end of September. We sat on the fully screened-in veranda and enjoyed the scenery in comfort. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a unique, elevated dining experience; no matter where you're traveling from, it's worth the trip.“

“We love CH have eaten there so many times. We always order the Prime Rib sandwiches. This is the first time 7/23/25 the Prime Rib meat was tough? “The breakfast was not bad at all. Really good portions. Our food was always hot and freshly cooked. We tried the French toast, breakfast burrito and eggs cooked your way. Fruit and coffee (starbucks) pretty basic. Plenty space to eat and clean tables available.“

“The restaurant was awesome!! My family and I were in town for a funeral and were recommended by our Aunt to eat here and we absolutely loved it! The food was phenomenal!! We are from South Dakota and wish we had a colonial Cafe where we live!! Dave Le was amazing and definitely was patient and knew his stuff!! Well done young man!! Great food fantastic service! Definitely will come back if we ever get back to St Charles again!!“

“This was my second ever visit in three weeks, both because of events at Arcada. My first visit, which was on a Saturday, was great! My friend and I were promptly waited on, the server was informative and attentive and our food came out quickly. My second visit was a little less impressive. The restaurant was quite full and understaffed. We were given water right away, but waited quite awhile until our server returned to get our drink order. Then again to get our food order. Thankfully the food came out quickly, as we were already running late for the start of the show. As the first visit, there are absolutely no complaints about our entrees. The food was very good!! Looking forward to another show and visit to the restaurant to try something new yet again.“

“I’ve been to Alter Brewing (St. Charles) several times over the course of the past 2-3 years. I have never been disappointed.

During my visit yesterday, I ordered the Salmon Lunch Bowl. My colleagues ordered Rice Against the Machine and the Crunchy Shrimp BBQ bowl. It was $13.99 in restaurant. It was the perfect size for a lunch. Our entire group was satisfied with the service and serving size of the bowls.

In previous visits, I have fish and chips and the shrimp tacos. It was all delicious.“

“I went to this place for the hotdog special, two hotdogs, drink and fries. I order three specials, and the guy asked me if I needed a six 6 hot dogs 🌭. 😂. And I say I need three special with the two hotdogs, fries and drink, and he kept asking me if I needed a six hotdog. He asked me two more times and I have to agree with a guy. Yes, I needed to six hotdogs!!!! I told this guy to put the hot peppers on the side, but he told me that he already have them on the hog dogs by the time I ask him so he couldn’t remove the damn hot peppers which is a shame because I don’t want the peppers on the hotdogs I want him on the side very very fast no doubt about that, but if you tell them how you decide to have your hotdogs don’t count on that“

“Hannah S was an amazing server! From the moment we sat down she was so inviting and friendly. She gave us suggestions about the menu and even let my husband taste the gravy for biscuits and gravy before he ordered. She was fabulous. What a great start to the day!“
