“We visited The Graceful Ordinary in downtown St. Charles, IL, on a warm late September day. We had a wonderful experience at Graceful Ordinary, one that's hard to match outside of Chicago. From its comfortable yet elegant design to the unique menu, every detail was carefully considered. The food was delicious and thoughtfully presented, and the service was excellent. We were fortunate to visit on a very warm day towards the end of September. We sat on the fully screened-in veranda and enjoyed the scenery in comfort. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a unique, elevated dining experience; no matter where you're traveling from, it's worth the trip.“

“We happened across this gem of a restaurant this past week. Menu is quite large with a wonderful assortment if items. I had the 2 by 2 by 2 by 2. Two eggs served hot and prepared as requested, with.two sausages , 2 slices of bacon and 2 huge pancakes. Way more than I could eat but pancakes were delicious leftover. Breakfast specials 7-11am M-F will be tried on our next visit. Very spacious and clean with friendly service.“

Recently had the Wednesday special Chicken and broccoli which was fabulous! Waitresses always nice and patient as we catch up. I went here recently with my mom who needed accommodations due to recent surgeries and they went above and beyond making her feel welcome even when she wasn't quite confident dining out yet. They were SO accommodating with the menu and made us feel right at home. The hostess was so sweet; we were so appreciative! & the food was delicious! I loved my chicken kebabs and we both loved the lemon chicken soup! Plus the lunch specials are huge portions at such a fair price! We will definitely be returning!“

“Absolute favorite sandwich. the Turkey with Havarti and cranberry compote on raisin bread. Chefs kiss. Also, the Arthouse salad is great. Very friendly staff. Can't wait to go back and try another menu item. Just allow plenty of extra time if going to the Paramount theater, because they are understandably very busy on the weekends.“

“Service was awful! Our server, Joselyn, slammed down the glasses of water 5 minutes after we were seated, took our order and never saw her again until she slammed the bill down at our table. We saw her for a total of 3 minutes in the 45 minutes we were there. Unfortunately for Joselyn, her tip reflected her poor service. I tip 20-25% for good service, she lost out and made the restaurant less desirable to return. However, the burger was juicy and delicious, the macaroni and cheese was outstanding!“

The sausage were cut into tiny pieces instead of crumbled sausage. The biscuits were to big for the little gravy given. It was good while it lasted!!!!“
