My husband and I just enjoyed an amazing breakfast at Kava Diem! We had the burrito, bacon, egg and yum sandwich and a Brown Butter Cafe coming soon donut - everything was delicious! The staff was so friendly and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
Fantastic quaint coffee shop right on the Fox River. Top notch coffee, great selection of fresh baked seasonal goods, served by a friendly and efficient staff. The patio is clean and well kept with nice umbrella tables and comfortable steel chairs. I'll be a regular before long!
We came for morning coffee and scones. First time visiting as was in town for a wedding. Busy, but we went through the line quick. They have a regular menu and vegan/vegetarian options. Our blueberry lemon scone was delicious. The coffee house has several areas to sit and an outside patio, which we enjoyed.

Maple Leaf Roasters Coffee House is exactly what you picture when someone describes a cozy coffeehouse. This St. Charles location offers the signature freshness of their own house-roasted coffee beans, with popular latte flavors like Cinnamon-Honey and Maple Vanilla made with high-quality, house-made syrups. The coffee is great, with phenomenal flavor, and the shop is often bustling.
The food is excellent, intentionally not fancy but made with quality ingredients cooked correctly. The breakfast alone would rival any in a 20-mile radius, featuring items like perfect hash browns and satisfying sandwiches. They also offer fantastic bakery items, including gluten-free donuts. The menu highlights their coffee and syrups, with standard and seasonal items available.
The atmosphere makes you want to slow down and have a real conversation. The cafe is pretty big, with fantastic seating areas, a beautiful outdoor patio by the river, and wonderful scenery. The staff is welcoming and helpful. They also offer unique activities like a coffee syrup making class. This spot is a highly recommended new favorite in the tri-city area.
