“We love CH have eaten there so many times. We always order the Prime Rib sandwiches. This is the first time 7/23/25 the Prime Rib meat was tough? “This was my second ever visit in three weeks, both because of events at Arcada. My first visit, which was on a Saturday, was great! My friend and I were promptly waited on, the server was informative and attentive and our food came out quickly. My second visit was a little less impressive. The restaurant was quite full and understaffed. We were given water right away, but waited quite awhile until our server returned to get our drink order. Then again to get our food order. Thankfully the food came out quickly, as we were already running late for the start of the show. As the first visit, there are absolutely no complaints about our entrees. The food was very good!! Looking forward to another show and visit to the restaurant to try something new yet again.“

“The setting was lovely. We ate outside. There was only one server when we arrived and she was working incredibly hard. We appreciated her efforts. Eventually others arrived to help. My steak was not cooked as I requested but I wasn't about to send it back because I felt like it might've taken awhile to get it. By the end of the meal everything was lovely but there were some bumps in the road. For us, on our 35th anniversary, it was not the special dinner we had hoped for.“

“If you're looking for a cozy spot with outstanding food, this place is a must-try. The Feta and Tomato appetizer was absolutely the highlight of my meal—rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Every bite reminded me why simple ingredients, when done right, can be so memorable. The atmosphere, however, was a bit on the loud side, so if you're hoping for a quiet dinner, this might not be the best choice. That said, the lively energy added to the overall vibe for some. One thing to note: the restaurant is small and fills up quickly, so I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. It's definitely worth planning for—the food will not disappoint!“

“Tonight I decided to venture out and try this restaurant my family has been RAVING about called Al’s Cafe in Downtown Elgin! I sat upstairs and had this lovely server named Marcie! She recommended the monthly special called “Moonstruck” and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The ambience, service and food is unmatched! If you are looking for a great night out I highly recommend Al’s Cafe!“

“The staff have been really rude to me ever since I pointed out that my tab was wrong and I was overcharged. I wasn't upset about the double charges, I just wanted them corrected. I've barely been waited on since then it seems. I tried to step in a help once when a patron had been over served. It wasn't welcomed at all. I was given the same look as I get when I walk up to the bar to get a drink. Too bad, it's really close to home to me. I haven't been in over a year and have no plans on returning.“

“I LOVE the Friday Fish Fry, but they’ve got enough menu options for everyone to enjoy a meal. The fresh fish, awesome wings, burgers, and rib-eye steak sandwich are all delicious. Pair any meal with the beer or drink of your choice, catch a game on one of their multiple TVs and you’ve got a nice evening! Be sure to say hey to Natalie and Archie, they’re two of the best bartenders you’ll meet.“
