“When heading towards Beverly for a property management home inspection, I wanted to find a local coffee joint that I could get a coffee and a snack of some sort. Afro Joe's was calling to me. Walking in, greeted warmly, the adventure began. If you haven't been, check the menu before you go because you will want to order one of each item! Since it was my first time, most certainly NOT the last, I needed a lifeline. Charmaine to the rescue. I don't know if I manifested or she read my mind , but when I asked which sandwich I should order instantly , she said the short rib! Boom! Done. Next up, a drink choice. Again I was not led astray. The option was a blueberry lavender cold brew topped with rose cold foam. As she was suggesting the option, Charmaine lifted the one she was drinking and again instantly sold. No chocolate croissant available since it was later in the morning but the chocolate morning roll was there and three for three, the order was placed. I already know that I have to come back, time and time again.Just walking in such a chill vibe , perfect music, everyone tables either working or chatting with a friend. The open kitchen invites you to see the hustle and bustle. The garage doors roll up onto the patio for warmer days and what appears to be local art work adorns the walls. When I tell you, this is absolutely no exaggeration, every item was on point! The short rib was so flavor forward eith the bite of picked onions, there was a side of diced pickles and onions too. Also a hit. The warm bun had some fruit nestled in its chocolatey tummy, flakes and moist with the richness of cocoa. And for the latte, cold, sweet and the flavors all complimented each other so well. I did opt for whole milk because, why not?!? I had one too many client emails and texts to be able to enjoy grabbing a book from the shelf but note, they even had the sharpest of colored pencils to doodle or write a note with. I have not one complaint, well, maybe one, I wish they were in my neighborhood because this would be a staple place to visit regularly! Until we meet again and I can get my hands on a chocolate croissant next...or any one of the other of their baked goods. Support your Local Black Owned Businesses!“

“This cafe is amazing! It’s clear they have worked hard to create a cohesive atmosphere and strong image for the cafe. This makes the atmosphere very warm and inviting. I love all the small details such as the cafe name stamped onto the food boxes and cups. The simple branding is straightforward and very pleasing. The menu has a good variety of items while still providing you the confidence that whatever you order will be made with care and taste phenomenal. I ordered the ginger peach tea with honey and it was divine, not to mention the prices are great. I love that the syrups are also homemade! They have a few food options but the one that stands out to me is the bacon, egg, and cheese on the bagel. I will absolutely be back to try more on the menu!“

“Such an awesome little shop. Quick service, amazing coffee, and their chocolate croissant (chocolate au pain) is sooooo good! It's topped with sea salt and bits of cacao nibs! I love me a good Mocha and their mocha hits all the perfect notes of amazing, delicious, not overly sweet but a smooth chocolatey flavor with a smooth espresso. Of course they do the latte/mocha art even in their to go cups which is a cherry on top. They have a small outdoor seating area, and the indoor has some merch, take home coffee beans, and you can see the roasting area in the back! I also noticed that they do classes there which I will absolutely be checking out in the future.“

“I’ve been to most of the locations in Chicago but this location is the ONLY one I keep coming back to! Even if it’s out my way I will make the trip every single time. Their products are amazing and far better than any other location. Most importantly, the customer service here is always and I mean ALWAYS phenomenal!! The entire staff is warm and friendly. I’ve been here probably over 50 times and never had a bad experience! If you are lucky enough to have Dee to help you, just know you are GREAT hands! “After hearing about Omarcito’s from Triple D, we had to try it. The owner, Omar, is hilarious and has a great personality. He greeted everyone as they walked up and held genuine conversations. My husband and I ordered a few different items, and we were not disappointed. The ingredients are fresh and you could tell the meat is marinated because it was super tender. This place is a must!!“

“A super popular cafe and bakery, Allez Café is a pleasant spot to visit! There isn’t a huge amount of seating, but it’s nice to sit and relax if you can grab a table. The interior is very cozy and warmly designed.
The breakfast sando is impeccable. The sandwich is filled with a fluffy steamed egg patty, crispy bacon slices, a homemade hashbrown, and stretchy cheese. The combination of the aioli and jalapeno jam is really smoky and has a good peppery kick. It comes out steaming hot on the softest potato bun. One of my favorite breakfast sandwiches in the city.
Definitely worth trying some of their other items as well. The miso chocolate chip cookie is wickedly delicious. It has a great chewy texture with the crispiest outer edges. It has big pools of chocolate and a touch of umami due to the miso. It’s so rich and tasty with the sea salt flakes. And on top of all of that, it’s absolutely massive.
The ramp and délice brioch with lemon is made up of the softest roll topped with a zesty cream. It’s vibrant, but has sharpness due to the ramp.
The mandarin dark chocolate pan suisse was bright and filled with a good bit of melty chocolate and custard. Not as flaky as I would have liked, however.
Overall a nice spot to enjoy good food with a peaceful environment in Bucktown!“

“Wow this place is gorgeous, I first walked in and thought I was transported to a different place, but I do have some bad things to say other than the good food, me and my friend had there crepes and they were delicious but not worth the 14 dollars for the pizza slice portion they gave us. The complaint I have was that the used all of the budget on the dining room but couldn’t afford to spruce up the restrooms. The floor in the bathrooms was cracking, the toilet was leaking, the door had to be slammed closed because it wasn’t on the hinges properly. The employee outside of the bathroom was also smoking indoors. Food was delish though!“

“I been to this place over a few times and I never been disappointed, and they opened this new location in Orland park. When you walk in the atmosphere automatically hits you full of warm white marble and brown coffee colors. The place is very clean and awesome for studying because they have mini study pods!!! So enjoy your coffee and study effortlessly. As for when I order, every staff member there is wonderful. Patient, attentive, and swift. I had ordered a new item called the cream cheese cinnamon bun!! It was mouth watering (10/10 must try again) and amazing iced coffee!! So with that being said definitely stop by this location.“

“I’ve been going to Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits for years — back when my cousin worked there — and it’s still one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood. The ginger cookies are reason enough to visit on their own.

Everything feels thoughtful without feeling overdone. Great food, great people, and the kind of place that becomes part of your routine before you realize it. Logan Square wouldn’t feel quite the same without it.“

“Best place to get a coffee if you are on the 606 trail! I ran 5km on the trail, got off right next to Dayglow and enjoyed a delicious flat white, iced chacha and one of the best almond butter croissants I ever had! ❤️
The service was super fast, plenty of seating inside and outside. You can soak in the sun, enjoy the greenery from the trail or the graffiti art. Super easy to get inside with strollers too!“
