“Absolutely thrilled to have found this place. My wife, our two boys and I, stopped in tonight after a google search of good places to eat (out of town-ers). This is the type of place that I love to go to but to be honest we weren’t necessarily prepared. Since I really didn’t know, we did not have reservations but wow….they were very accommodating and gave us a table outside which was more than perfect for us and very gracious as I don’t think we would have gotten in otherwise. The service was above and beyond. Our server was super friendly and even catered to several of our twin 4 year olds wild requests. I got the hanger steak which was plated beautifully with potatoes, greens, and sauces. My wife got their pasta special of the day, and I believe the pasta itself was fresh made. Amazing flavors and the attention to detail was impeccable. I could go on an on but these are the kind of food experiences I love to seek out and hope to make it back again in the future!! “We were in town for the Fly Iowa airshow and always try to find local places to stop at. We were not disappointed at all. Their breakfast was perfectly cooked to order and exactly what we needed before our busy day at the airport. The staff was attentive and personable, just made our day. “Yesterday, my husband and I tried El Toro in Clinton. I have long since just enjoyed Mexican for what it is usually is outside of the western states, Tex mex. I was raised by a nana who made a fresh pot of frijoles weekly, that she usually had me wash for her, and roasted her chiles on the comal for her salsa until the smoke cleared the room. Every time she’d see me “Queres comer mija?” and you never told nana no. I had beans & eggs with verde salsa and fresh tortillas with her countless times. I have never found anything similar to her beans in any state I’ve been to, until yesterday. The beans is always my test, that and the tamales. I judge tamales to be like my Tias, who would make them all day from scratch; the only reicipe I follow myself. Everything, minus the salsa, was perfect. The music had me genuinely dancing in my seat, the food made me want to order seconds, and to add a plus, Jesse found the queso he loves so much from his hometown. The service was great and personable, we had several fun conversations with the staff. I can’t recommend it enough and I look forward to returning. It felt a lot like home. Thank you from this second generation Mexican American family, you made our day.”

“Always amazing food. They were busy today and it took a little bit to get our order but we had a big order. The food spot on. Highly recommend the Pork Carnitas Mac. My son says the Mac and cheese bacon dog was even better cause it had real bacon and not bacon bits. If you are out and about stop by and try their amazing food and the shockerz drinks are amazing well”
