“Ethio Beans Ethiopian Restaurant! Authentic Ethiopian food in Carol Stream, IL, we are fortunate to have this place just a few minutes drive from our house. We've been ordering lunch/dinner from there for the last 6 years or so, the owners are incredibly kind as they take our orders and as they present our takeouts.We absolutely love the Special Spicy Chicken curry which is Chicken curry seasoned with Blend Red Pepper and Veggie combo, which is Lentil Curry, Yellow Split Peas, Greens, Cabbage. Of course, all accompanied by famous Ethiopian flatbread called Injera (a well fermented flatbread we use to pinch and hold the food with our fingers (no need for silverware)). We recommend getting a family platter with a few different veggies and meat options so you can taste multiple dishes. Everything is delicious, from the veggie’s combo to the meat variety to the coffee...amazing!!! The location is a bit hidden in a plaza so don't miss it! Parking, no problem!If you happen to be in the Carol Stream area, we highly recommend trying Ethiopian food at Ethio Beans with a group of friends/family that want to try something new, so much fun with kids as well. It's absolutely a great social way to eat. “My wife and I stopped in yesterday to get her some treats for her birthday. We were greeted as we walked in and made to feel welcome. The desserts all looked incredible, and the owner (I believe) explained each item that he had so we knew our way around. I can't explain how nice he was! We ended up getting three desserts, but I was tempted to give 5 stars before even eating them because of how sweet and helpful he was. We ate them all last night though- incredible. I really loved the almond financier, but all were delicious. Definitely try this place!“

“I am sharing this review on behalf of my mom who experienced the best service, tastiest hamburgers and freshly baked Lemon Blueberry Scones. She and her friends play cards every Saturday, most times after playing they go out for dinner; they have tried the location in Itasca for breakfast before cards, but they wanted to check them out afterwards for a burger. They called ahead to see what time they were closing; the person who answered said they were getting ready to close but offered to stay open to make some burgers for them, they placed their order ahead of time so not to keep the staff stay open any longer, when they arrived the burgers were coming off the grill. She commented how the burger was just the right size (she is not a fan of thick burgers), her friend asks if they had any Lemon Blueberry Scones available; they did not but had some scones prepared for baking in the morning and decided to bake off some for them as well. My mom purchased three! I believe the one who serviced them was one of the partners, she invited them to come play large enough to seat the teams and decks of cards nicely. Service like this goes way above and beyond the norm these days, she said she was going to tell her friends about this experience and are plan on meeting there for breakfast before playing cards next week. In this day and time, it is nice to see others care for our seniors with care and respect. It will go a long way... So, if you have never tried Joe Donut in Itasca for their cake donuts, or breakfast or even the hamburgers for lunch - this reviewer would recommend you do so... you will not be disappointed; especially when it comes to their service. “Stopped for a coffee with a friend on a weekday morning. It was very busy and all seats were taken but we managed to eventually snag a spot at the coffee bar. I went with a decaf caramel latte with oat milk. It was delicious and smooth with a nice strong espresso flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. They actually give a real cup of you dine in as well. The pastries looked great and they also serve a selection of sandwiches- I will have to try next time!“

There was also plenty of seating and it was clean inside. I had a blackberry brownie and a blueberry basil matcha latte. I typically dislike sweet drinks so I was hesitant to order the latte. However, it wasn't overly sweet and the flavor was interesting (in a good way). The blackberry brownie was rich and also delicious. My child had a big chocolate chip cookie and devoured it instantly. I ordered the strawberry matcha and the ordering menu prompted me to select a sweetness level (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, none). I opted for the 50% level and it was suuuuh-weet! I'll definitely try the 25% sweetness level next time!! The walls have beautiful quotes all over. It doesn't look like just anyone can add their quote, which is good - otherwise people would write all kinds of crazy things. “Mud and Char is family owned! They have a gorgeous selection of teas- and they have little vials with a cork top that you can smell! The double chocolate smells like a bakery! They also have their own coffee from a local company - I had to grab a bag! Their scones and homemade pop tarts are divine! There's plenty of parking but not too much space inside. In the summer, they always have tables outside too!“
