“Nicky’s Hot Dog is a must-visit spot if you’re in the Hotel Central area for a business trip. I arrived around 11:00 am, and while foot traffic was light, parking was still scarce, possibly due to sharing with a neighboring business. The place is tiny and old, with no updates to the exterior or interior, but that’s not why you’re there. I skipped the namesake hot dog and went straight for the Italian beef sandwich.

They used to be cash-only, but now they accept major cards, which was a relief since I don’t carry cash. The workers are packed into the minuscule kitchen like sardines, but ordering is straightforward. Just tell the guy at the counter what you want, and he writes it down on paper. A couple of minutes later, your order is ready.

There’s nothing fancy about Nicky’s, so if that’s what you’re after, head to a major chain. I ordered a beef sandwich with fries and an RC Cola for around $14. The sandwich came wrapped in foil and paper, with the bottom half soaked in beef juice. The beef was perfect, the bread was soft, and the hot peppers were just right. The sandwich was delicious and paired perfectly with the golden fries and cola. I’m so glad these places still exist, and I have much respect for the workers who move at warp speed to handle the orders, especially as it got jam-packed as soon as I left.“

“I came in tonight and was excited because I’ve been craving a jrito crunch and have been for about 3 years and my buddy Carl told all his fb friends that owner is a previous franchisee of jrs and they have the chil ito which is this same xact indgredients (yes same chili and cheese and same chips as jrito everything was phenomenal came from Thornton which is about a half hour plus drive. So so worth the drive I refused to touch anything til I got home so I could enjoy that first bite. I see from some of the reviews that they have expanded their menu which is a mistake. They should have stayed with only burgers, chicken and gyros.“

“Finally went to Wojo’s after hearing about it for ages. I was mostly curious about their shakes and I told myself I’d just grab one… but yeah, ended up ordering food too.

I tried the Oreo shake and it was exactly what I wanted, thick, creamy, and had real Oreo chunks in it. Not the fake syrup taste you sometimes get. This was Super good.

I also got a burger and honestly that’s what stood out the most. You can see the flames on the grill while they’re cooking, which is pretty cool. The burger came out hot and juicy with a nice char, seasoned just right. The bun actually held up the whole time without turning soggy, which I appreciated. Fries were crispy, golden, and they came out hot.

The vibe here is pretty cool, kind of old-school diner style. Staff was friendly and even though it was a weekend afternoon, I didn’t wait long at all.

I'll be coming to Wojo’s again, hopefully soon. This spot hits the mark.“
