“I have seen this place there since I was young. we were out with some friends and decided to swing in. It is a quaint, little old homey bar. we loved it!!! The building looks like it is original to the town. (I love old vintage buildings, etc). We bought a round of drinks, hung out for a while, shot a game of pool. The customers and the bartender were very friendly!! Be aware they are a cash only bar (they do have an ATM inside) and it is a smoking bar so if you are sensitive to smoke. We will be back!! The one thing I noticed they changed the sign in the parking lot they had for years. I loved how it had a picture of the parking lot and had some cars, but also had a snowmobile and motorcycle parked together. Odd combination....but humorous!! 🤣 We will be back to support this local business!!“

“My honey and I always end our night here. The bartenders are very friendly and have a great sense of humor. We love Sharis and you have to try the chocolate ganache dessert it is absolutely sinful and our favorite! The po-boy sandwich is excellent and my favorite! Patrons are pretty friendly and parking isn't bad and the prices are reasonable“

“To be honest we drove out to this tiny out of the way bar for the beef. Which was beyond amazing. I think they use garlic bread. It's so good. I was super excited when I saw Chili on the menu. Three different beans, a very light onion and tomato which is right up my alley. It had a good amount of beef, and I would put the spice level at a 4. But more than that it was way the spice comes in on the back end of every bite. Just fantastic. Needless to say, I was and am still impressed. As a bonus I was able to meet the mastermind behind this fantastic Chili. 8/10.“

I was told that they have been in business 42 years! WOW, and I can see why. They are very friendly and treat you well. The food is fantastic and the locals are very laid back and make you feel welcome as well. If I was local to the area, this bar would be my base! A throwback feel to the better times, in my opinion. 5 ✨'s! I hope to get a chance to visit again.“

“Great little hole in the wall bar. They don't serve food, but there's a pizza place downstairs who will bring food up to you, and the bartender tells you they allow you to have food delivered. The pool table is decent. Drinks are reasonably priced with a friendly staff. We'll definitely be back again.“

“We arrived after attending a Christmas event and the waitress informed us that no children were allowed after 9pm. We arrived at 8:42 which didn't leave us much time to eat and we were prepared to leave. They however did accommodate our party which did include 3 children and 3 adults. Our service was prompt and friendly. The menu was limited due to holiday events occurring in the area, despite that the food was prepared quickly and was decent. I would definitely visit again to experience the full menu and arcade.“

“The upstairs bartender, Aaron C. does the work of 2 bartenders. I sat at the bar...he served me my lunch. He was very friendly and fast. The upstairs was loaded with like 50 guests from a baseball team? So he was VERY busy. But that didn't stop him from speed, accuracy and friendliness! Best bartender ! He deserves a raise!“

“We love coming here, and the last couple times we’ve been here, we had Lauren as our server. She is amazing, sit in her section if you can. She’s great at her job. “I didn't order any food when I recently visited Spanky's - a bar and grill located in a small strip mall located at 15213 101st Ave. in Dyer, Indiana. I had a few drinks, served by the very kind bartenders, and really enjoyed the live music with my friends and family! You can smoke in the bar, but it is pretty well venhilated, according to my non-smoking friends. There is a decent sized stage, plenty of space to sit at at the bar or at the tables in front of the stage, and there wasn't a wait for the bathrooms. There were three stalls available in the ladies room, which were clean, and it was nice not having to wait! Prices for the drinks were very reasonable. If music isn't your thing, there were plenty of TV's to watch - showing the news, gameshows, and sports games. I had an awesome time, they had amazing musicians, and I look forward to going back soon!

Parking: Because the bar is located within a strip club, parking can be limited. There are signs in front of the businesses that state only customers for that business can park there. There IS free, additional parking located behind the strip mall, though.

Kid-friendliness: This is a bar that features adult music. You might just want to leave the children at home with a baby sitter if you're going late!

Wheelchair accessibility: There are parking spots for disabled individuals. Those with wheelchairs shouldn't have much trouble navigating the single level bar.“

“Not sure if they're affiliated, but we had eaten at the Schererville location and liked it so we' thought we'd try the Merrillville location this time around. Really love the decor inside and out, as well as the atmosphere. We were greeted warmly by a gentleman who may have been a manager? Seated right away. This was at 5:30 on a Saturday and not very crowded so that was nice. Our waiter took a bit of time to greet us, but once we ordered our drinks they came fairly quickly. Not so much with the food. Mexican restaurants are notoriously quick when it comes to delivering your food right away so I was actually okay with having a bit of extra time before eating. That said everything was slow thereafter. I was out of water and never got a refill. Took a minute for the waiter check in after we finished our food. Needed boxes and again, after delivering therm, he was MIA. Finally got the check.

All of the employees were friendly and professional, I just felt like the waiter could have been a bit more attentive.

Food was good (nacho fajitas and tacos) and i would definitely consider returning.“
