Town Pub Bar • $

“The food here is delicious. The cook home makes the poppers and Cheese sticks. The french fries have an amazing mixture of seasonings on them. The pizza is delicious. The prices are low for food. This is definitely not your average pub food! Please give it a try! The only down fall to this place is pricey bottled beer for the area and nothing on tap.“

“Friendly crowd! Great environment! Traveling, couldn't find cold beer close to apple valley dinwiddle Indiana and it brought me here 7 miles from comfort in. Was looking for cold beer and gps brought me here. Bre was outstanding and very professional. No long wait it was a little busy but she remained positive and was quickly to check if I needed another drink which is awesome. Also the beer was cold! I live in terre haute Indiana if I'm ever up this way I will definitely come back and try some food as well. They have carry out beer which is doing me good at hotel. Thank you for your professional fun out going atmosphere! And this is my first review on Google!“

“The Queso Fundido / Molten Cheese is the best I have ever had in my life. I would describe it more as a queso dip with chorizo, as the cheese is melty/drippy and served with chips. I am used to queso fundido being more melty/stringy like pizza cheese, and served in tortillas. Either way, it hit the spot. Would definitely recommend 10/10. Rice and beans are delicious. Chorizo has just the right amount of heat. Tortillas have the perfect proportion of meat and flavorful toppings.“

Reichert's Tavern Inc. Bar • $
14351 W 135th Ave, Cedar Lake - 7.3 miles

“I've been wanting to stop in this place in the old village of Brunswick for some time. Yelp reports this as closed, but it's open and the hours on this page are accurate. I finally made it here last night. Brunswick is an old German settlement that was founded in the mid 1800's. It's about two miles west of Cedar Lake/US 41, along 133rd/135th Avenue. The tavern sits at the southeast corner of 135th and Calumet Avenue. You can tell that the building is very old, but kept in very nice condition. We arrived around 6:30 PM, came in through the back door and settled up to the old bar. The owners were watching TV at the bar, waiting to serve those who came in. The menu is very simple: a good selection of domestic bottles (Miller, Bud, Coors, etc.) and a few imports (Grolsch, Warsteiner). The owners were very nice and we talked about the history of the tavern and Brunswick. According to the owner, this has been a continually-operated tavern since 1856, when it served as a stop for stagecoach travel. The tavern was very clean and had a lot of neat, old swag including a vintage Old Style light fixture. Beers were reasonably priced. It doesn't appear they serve anything but bottled/canned beer and lemonade, but definitely worth the stop for a cold beer. I'll be back next time I'm in the area!“

“I love this place, good food and not too expensive. The view and outside seating is awesome. I have one big problem though. Your water is terrible! It seems like you use the same water in the fountain drinks too. Tastes awful, and has some side effects if you know what I mean. Other people I know have had the same issue. We all know Cedar lake water is bad. Please get a better water treatment system.“

“Family friendly, good music good people. I tried to visit this place last time I was in the area on a weekday, but didn't realize they were only open weekends. It's got almost no front so I was surprised how much was there. Good food, big dance floor with an instructor and a good band. The people were friendly. Beer was cold.“

“I didn't order any food when I recently visited Spanky's - a bar and grill located in a small strip mall located at 15213 101st Ave. in Dyer, Indiana. I had a few drinks, served by the very kind bartenders, and really enjoyed the live music with my friends and family! You can smoke in the bar, but it is pretty well venhilated, according to my non-smoking friends. There is a decent sized stage, plenty of space to sit at at the bar or at the tables in front of the stage, and there wasn't a wait for the bathrooms. There were three stalls available in the ladies room, which were clean, and it was nice not having to wait! Prices for the drinks were very reasonable. If music isn't your thing, there were plenty of TV's to watch - showing the news, gameshows, and sports games. I had an awesome time, they had amazing musicians, and I look forward to going back soon!Parking: Because the bar is located within a strip club, parking can be limited. There are signs in front of the businesses that state only customers for that business can park there. There IS free, additional parking located behind the strip mall, though.Kid-friendliness: This is a bar that features adult music. You might just want to leave the children at home with a baby sitter if you're going late!Wheelchair accessibility: There are parking spots for disabled individuals. Those with wheelchairs shouldn't have much trouble navigating the single level bar.“
