“Found the restaurant on the Indiana State Parks app. We stopped in after earning a state park pin at Mounds. The view is amazing and the food is even better! We recommend the Piggie Plate. It’s a hearty tenderloin on fries smothered in their award winning gravy. Come hungry the portions are man-sized.“

“My mother, wife, and I had lunch Wednesday the 30th of Oct. and had a very nice time. My mother has been here three or four times and my wife and I two. The seating was very nice, the dining area was spotless, and the service was spectacular. Our waitress, Beth, was so very nice and cheerful. She gave us plenty of time to decide and asked if we might like to all share a cinnamon roll while we read through the menu. She came back with the cinnamon roll and it was so delicious! After a few minutes Beth popped back to our table and asked how we liked our roll. She then asked if we had made our choices from the menus. We had a few questions and Beth answered, gave a few suggestions and we ordered. Our food came quite quickly. I think a manager brought our food, as it seemed that there were a few other tables all being served at the same time. We all started having our lunch. Beth popped back in to be sure that our orders were all correct and that we were very pleased. We finished most of our meal and Beth asked if we would like anything else. Being that we were stuffed, we asked for a few boxes to take our left overs. She came back with boxes and a bag, asked if we would like carry out coffee or soda drinks. We declined and I asked for our check. The check was on par for many places and I felt an exceptional value for the quality and quantity of food. It was not just filling, but delicious and left me feeling happy and ready for an afternoon nap. All and all, we had a pleasant dining experience and I felt very happy that I was able to enjoy the time with my wife and mother in such a nice place. I feel that the atmosphere, taste of food, and especially our waitress Beth, made for a great day that the three of us will remember. It’s possible to create nice atmosphere, cook delicious foods, and employ a high caliber of employee, but having all three at the same time is what makes a great restaurant. The Toast has all three. “I attended a training session here. Tables were placed to provide good social distancing and masks were required by the vendor. We couldn't keep any doors open but ventilation seemed sufficient for the 2 hour session. The facility itself is small but nice. It was clean except the corner under the bathroom hand dryer and the back of the toilet seat. They needed some scrubbing.I SO wish people understood to ALWAYS keep their mask on OVER THEIR NOSE AND THEIR MOUTH. ALL THE TIME WHILE WITH OR POTENTIALLY WITH PEOPLE. The nose and mouth are connected. Keep BOTH covered. Does no good otherwise. Put the mask on then LEAVE IT ALONE. HANDS OFF the face part of the mask. Resist fiddling with it. Touching the face covering of the mask contaminates your hands. Manipulate the mask only by the ear pieces. Sanitize your hands and any area you touched immediately if you forget.Practice wearing a mask at home. Talk while you have it on to learn what your mask does when you wear it and go about daily tasks. Practice so you're not surprised to find that the mask moves. It's an art. I've been a nurse 45 years and had plenty of mask time. Try to accept them as a helpful part of staying safe. Look at it as a friend not an enemy.Touching the face covering of the mask is like taking a kleenex, coughing into it and blowing your nose in it then using it to wipe down the table and everything around yourself. Puleeze! Like the song says: THINK! What you're trying to do to me!“

“Concannon's Bakery has been a a go to shop since my childhood. I can recall being very young and picking up doughnuts with my mother at their downtown Muncie location in the early 1970's.

Fast forward to 2024 and they have moved twice and are now on the Northwest side of Muncie in a beautiful large building since around 2010. Parking is in their own surface lot.

The display cases are reminiscent of my teen years when looking over all of the yummy doughnuts. As well as the multi layered service behind the counter to serve customers quickly. I found the service to be very good.

What has changed is the amount of additional items outside of their delicious doughnuts offered. Like pretzels, popcorn and various candies. All available by mail order. They also have these branded items in various locations in state and the Midwest. They also added a coffee bar in their newer location. A barista takes your order.

Finally the biggest change is adding a dining room to enjoy these amazing doughnuts. I found the area clean. It's self busing.

My order was a childhood favorite Long John with buttercream and a powdered sugar with buttercream. I also ordered a house coffee. I enjoyed them in the dining room. The pastries seem close to identical, but smaller in size and much more expensive.

I loved my visit back to my hometown and of course to a super FAVORITE business. However, they are not quite as amazing as they once were in my opinion on taste. At the same time major improvements have occurred which is appreciated. 4.5 rounding down and absolutely recommend hitting them up.

Parking: Surface parking nearby the building.

Kid-friendliness: High chairs

Wheelchair accessibility: Flat surface and handicap parking.“
