“This bar is one of many on the stretch of Kennedy Ave north of 165th street and south of the highway. Truly one of the last of its kind and feels like a time capsule walking into it. Friendly staff and cheap drinks, along with pool and darts. Can’t ask for a better dive bar.“

“Visiting the area and family wanted us to try their brews as one of their favorites. Tried a flight of 10 beers and favs were Tangerine Trackstar, Toxic Words, Lucifer in a haze, Immoveable King, Nuban overlord and the top one Here comes the reaper. We also had the Pretzel and queso for snacks. They were very good and fast. They also had ice tea which is not always available at breweries. I will say the art work gave me pause and some of the names being a Christian but I don't know the background to comment.“

“The joy I feel when I go to Home Plate Pub is indescribable! The bartenders are the friendliest and most efficient in all The Ville! The quality of the coke has gone down a bit, but the patrons that frequent Home Plate are some of the finest people that you’ll ever meet. The only other bar in Hessville that was FAR SUPERIOR the Home Plate was Brothers II, and sadly that fine establishment is no longer in business! RIP RON & SUE“

They have karaoke I believe about four times a week throughout different times of the week.I recommend purchasing a Bluemotherfuker they're very delicious.I recommend if you are looking for a chill place with friendly faces this is the bar for you.they do not have a kitchen at this time but they do have chips and snacks.Very friendly bartenders.Pinball, darts, videogame, and gambling cards.
