“We made a pit stop off the highway from Michigan to Nebraska. I have to say we are very happy with our stop and the owners are so welcoming. We got lots of goodies for the road I couldn’t even take pictures cause by time I thought of it we already took bites 😊 we tried the pizza bagel, the sausage bagel dog and a bagel club sandwich then got the house made blueberry cream cheese and the jalapeño cream cheese to go ❤️‍🔥 can’t wait to stop through again. I have to add that was the best bagel I’ve ever ate in life and the size was massive I had to save half for later.“

“We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and Jordan and Nicole were so welcoming. They helped make suggestions on coffee and tea. The drinks were very well made and Jordan asked if we would like the banana bread we bought warmed up. Such nice personal touches in the coffee shop. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. “Was there last Friday. Food and service were excellent. They were out of the Stagg bourbon that I ordered…which was priced at $30 a pour. The waiter asked if I would like to substitute EH Taylor Small Batch instead…which is priced at $17 per pour in the menu. I said that would be fine. I watched them bring the bottle out which I recognized as Small Batch. The bourbon was excellent. Received my bill and was charged the $30 for the Stagg. Pointed it out to the waiter and he said oh no, the bourbon we substituted for you is priced much higher at $47 a pour and we gave that to you for the same price since we were out of the Stagg. I said, no you gave me the EH Taylor Small Batch which is priced at $17 on the menu. He said no I don’t think so. I said can you please ask the bartender what she poured, she said it was the small batch. They whispered back and forth a bit and she told me that I should take advantage of that bill adjustment…like I got a deal when all I wanted was to be charged according to what the menu stated. In the end our waiter was apologetic, adjusted our bill correctly, and was very friendly and attentive throughout our dinner. Just seemed a bit fishy to me. I don’t know everything about bourbon but, I do some hunting and would never pay $30 let alone $47 a pour for Taylor small batch.“

“First time Golden Bear in Lansing. The food and service was great. However, when I checked my bank account I was charged $9.98 more then the amount on the receipt I received from the register. When I went back the manager was very nice & helpful. She refunded the $. The restaurant receipt had the same amount. I pulled up my bank account & showed her the amount from my bank. We both thought it was so strange! Maybe the register malfunctioned? Again the manager was awesome!“

I brought my grandmother and she wanted to split her meal with someone who wasn't able to come to the restaurant in person, so they brought out half of her meal and waited until we were almost done with the other half freshly made and packaged! Lake perch was great! Not like other restaurants that try to serve ocean perch as lake perch. The Nashville hot chicken strips were a little disappointing they didn't have any heat to them, but the chicken was cooked perfectly and the breading was really good so it made up for it! Mac n cheese was delicious, I was even impressed with the fries! None of them were soggy or over salted! I'm sad I couldn't have tried them sooner!“

But I feel obligated to shout this from the rooftop...YOU GOTTA LOSE THE NEW BOOTHS IN THE TASTING ROOM. WORST IDEA EVER! I know the thought was to add more seating but this isn't it. It's off-putting, makes it seem more cramped, it's awkward, and uncomfortable. Reorganize if need be but make us all hoppy and bring back the high-tops.“
