“This place is always our go to when we want Mexican food. I highly suggest the beef tips taco salad. You are seated immediately when you step in and the staff is so friendly. Your drink is never empty and your food comes out insanely quick but still taste so fresh. Better than any of the mainstream Mexican food places we have been to!”
“Best pizza I've had from around Columbus,In. Very cheesy with the little burn marks on top. Golden brown crispy light crust....which is cooked perfectly.Grab gas and a slushie, classic Hucks. Had one in Illinois where i grew up...1$ square pizzas id get 2 of them. Dinner served as 10 yr old riding his bike on the streets?”
“I've lived in Columbus 20 years and didn't know untill recently this place was here. Luckie a good friend who lives in hope kept raving about it. It's def worth the 25 minute drive from columbus! I'm simple and ordered just a cheese pizza and bread sticks. It did not disappoint. All of it was excellent but the sauce is the star in my opinion. Curst was thin and perfectly crispy, and a boat load of good cheese !! These little places are what city's like this are all about and I love it. I'll be back again soon!!!!!! Thanks !!”
“It's a gas station with a kitchen inside. No place to sit down and dine in. Just grab and go food. The chicken I will say is delicious. So are the sides. 4 piece of chicken, mashed potatoes and a drink. Chicken is juicy and delicious. Did not expect that from a gas station. I will recommend.”
“Fantastic food! Very personable, friendly service. We tried several items on the menu and shared them. Not one disappointing item served! Flavorful and a wide variety of foods offered. The cabbage rolls were a table favorite, along with the herb spread for the rolls. We look forward to coming back and trying each menu item!”
“I tried a chicken burrito and it was great. The chicken was seasoned well and had perfect char on it. It had lettuce, tomato, cheese, and sour cream on it. The meal came with a spice tray that had 4 sauces and a habenero onion chutney. The sauces ranged from sweet to VERY hot. Having vacationed many times in Mexico I can say that TaColumbus is the most authentic "Mexican tourist" restaurant I have found anywhere in the midwest. The staff was friendly and attentive.”
“This place is amazing. I can't believe there is something like this in Columbus! When you walk in you're immediately overwhelmed with tons of choices of delicious looking baked goods and sweets. It's a bit intimidating at first but just pick up a metal tray and tongs, collect what you want, and take to the front counter to pay. I didn't see prices posted anywhere but what I got was very reasonably priced. I don't speak Spanish and the staff didn't seem to speak much English so I couldn't really ask questions about what I was getting so just considered it an adventure and picked a few things that looked good. Everything was delicious!”
“came here on a whim. from out of state but loved here long ago. was surprised to see a sushi restaurant at the old yeekee building. we had been debating on sushi for 2 hours. I'm lazy so my husband got a 3roll lunch special. my husband said the decor was great and the ms. lady taking his order was so sweet. miso soup was very flavorful and all 3 rolls hit the spot. thanks guys for some happiness on this gloomy, light icy, Thurs in Dec! 5+ stars!”
“Would highly recommend everything was beyond perfect absolutely favorite restaurant in town. Honestly didn't even know the place was there but we are definitely glad we found it. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. This place definitely needs to be all over the web and every social media. I'm not the one to really post on a website but El Popocatepetl needs to be blasted everywhere thank you very much for the amazing food customer service and once again food was amazing.”
“Life long resident of Columbus, but never came here. Finally tried it and it was wonderful. Fish was great and it reminds me a the great fish fry you get at a firehouse. The chocolate pie was amazing. Reminded me of the chocolate pie my aunt made. Staff and owner were extremely nice and kind. I will be back.”
“This is around the corner from my house, so it’s fun to walk over in the morning for something extra special. I finally ate in with some friends for breakfast and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food. I’ll be bringing more friends to try other good eats on the extensive menu.”
“First time my husband & I ate here & they were the best choice we made! Not only are they friendly & fairly affordable, but they were fast & the food was very fresh! My meal was hot the entire time I was trying to eat haha. Definitely a good place to sit down. Beautiful decor inside!”
“I enjoy the atmosphere that Jay has created to showcase their amazing coffee brews. The Malabar Monsoon and Black Magic are my two current favorite bean roasts they carry. Jay is very knowledgeable about the coffees and the roasting process, and is a lot of fun to talk to about woodworking! I'm glad they are here in Columbus and I wish them lots of future success. My caffeine addiction is counting on them!”
“Very good food. The owner is in there everyday. He gets to know people personally and makes sure that everyone is taken care of. My mom and me eat here at least 2-3 times a month and it never disappoints. Best Mexican food in the state for sure!”
“Love this unique bank turned coffee shop. But even more to love is the delicious fresh roasted coffee and hometown connection from a family run local business.Dietary restrictions: Oat milk availableKid-friendliness: Bank vault turned kid play area as well as a kid menu and small drinks.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp available to enter and handicap accessible restroom.”
“I’ve been gluten-free for a little over a year now due to medical reasons. I’ve struggled to find sweets, breads and other things that don’t “taste gluten free.” Sarabeth and Sam at Ahlemeyer Bakery are absolutely AMAZING humans!! They were so accommodating and were just as excited as I was to make this special order.”
“My family has ordered and enjoyed the BLT, Hot Ham and Cheese, Chicken Bacon Swiss, brownies, french onion dip fountain drinks and of course free pickle! We go at least once a month. I will choose this spot over Subway any day. Better quality sandwiches for lower prices and you support a local small business. My CBS always has LOTS of meat, sub bun is always soft and they never hesitate to substitute an item if they can. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“Associates with long hair (down past shoulders but in pony tail with no net). Floor and tables was dirty. Food was good but this is a been there done that because of cost and ”
“This is a hidden gem in the old mall with very friendly staff and amazing and huge pizzas!!! It was very clean as well. We ordered a large pizza and it was easily 20 inches. We dined in and took the rest home to enjoy tomorrow. We will definitely be back.”
“I first had Captain D’s back home in Illinois. Swore I would never go to another one ever again. When I moved to Columbus, and saw one was here, I still felt the same. One day I decided to bury the hatchet and try it again. I am so glad I did. This location is amazing! It is clean, staff is friendly and helpful, and food is very tasty!”
“They always have good burgers. Only down fall is I called in a to go order for 2 burgers, was told it would be 20-25 mins. I arrived about 20 mins after I called in the order and waited another 25 mins for the food. 45 mins was a long wait for 2 burgers and it wasn't dinner time yet. Other than wait time, great food!!!”
“Don Jose authentic Mexican restaurant.100/100Biarra Tacos made with Goat.Delicious and crispy outside and flavorful goat meat.Yummy consume, great Jamaica and overall a favorite of mine!Definitely check this place out”

“This place has authentic and delicious Mexican food!!. Like other customers mentioned... don't judge the book by the cover. The owners are hard-working people who will do their best , so you can will back ?. Bring cash for tips?”
“This place is awesome!!!! First the atmosphere is laid back but rustic, the drinks are delicious, and the food is ridiculous!!! The smoked pork is so on point. This is the best food and drinks I’ve had in town. The staff and owner were so friendly and answered any questions we had. Take the time to stop in, relax, and enjoy. What a gem!!!”
“I absolutely love CHZ, the teas and shakes are fantastic and the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable and very patient with helping me decide on what I want. The atmosphere is positive and it makes my day better.”
“I love their chicken tacos! Their chips and salsa are extremely good. It comes with 3 different salsas. Whether you are dining in or carrying out, it is highly recommended!!”
“Fast kitchen and good food. Service is good...unless you get Romy. He's the worst. Last time he took our drink order and didn't come back. Someone else got our food order...and then Romy showed up at the end with the check. I gave a tip to the guy who did the work. We've had him too many times for it to just be a bad day.”
“The food was delicious and very well priced. Their barbacoa is packed with flavor and their lengua is well seasoned and melts in your mouth. They also have a great selection of soft drinks, including Jarritos and a wide variety of Jumex juices. The staff was also kind and helpful and gave great service.”
“Stopped by yesterday for my first time. They had the fried chicken sandwich special w/fries so I went with that. Service was outstanding! My sandwich came out piping hot and all of the toppings tasted fresh! My crinkle fries had good seasoning flavor! I asked for green beans and they brought out cole slaw BUT the cole slaw was incredible so I didn't say anything! Atmosphere was perfect small town vibes. Love it and will be back for sure!!”
