Prices weren't bad, but the older crowd that frequents the place had to loudly talk down about "this damn younger generation" loudly enough for me and my wife and our 3 young kids to hear. So naturally I had to defend them and I yelled at them and there selfish generation for causing so many young screw ups in my "young generation." Don't go unless you want to fight with some Boomer's”

“A great local restaurant for some good comfort food and great service. I’ve only been here on weekends and there is usually a bit of a wait, but it is completely worth it. The service is great and the food is just as good. There is also a small bakery at the checkout, which has lots of tasty treats!”

It is the first restaurant I have found that if you order a salad to go, the to go salad is every bit as big as the one you get when you are ordering in. That is so unusual and so appreciated! “I've lived in the area my whole life and just started visiting the Oasis. Let's start with the best part, the service! The ladies that work here usually get to know you pretty well! Your second visit they will ask if you want the same thing you had last time. To be fair, there's one young bartender that sits on her phone more than she works. But, I've been told you'll have that. She's nice but you find yourself waiting longer than you should for service. The food is hands down awesome! You wouldn't think it would be anything crazy but it's consistent and good every time we go in. My friends love the wraps, burgers and I'm a fan of really anything I've had there. The wait for the food isn't bad when you consider they have one person on staff that tends the bar, tables and food. Yes, it's a lot of fried foods, but the lettuce, tomatoes and other items are fresh! As far as the feel, or "ambiance"... it's a bar. It's an awesome small town bar feel where everyone that stops in probably knows one another. Everyone is friendly to one another and those from out of town are always welcomed. Stop in and give it a try.”

“Stopped in after a trip to Four Winds casino in New Buffalo Michigan. Loved it! A few locals in the joint. Everyone was so friendly! My husband and one of the locals had the same New Orleans sweat shirt on. We had just gotten back from Biloxi Mississippi and New Orleans. So, had he and his wife. Great conversation! Excellent food! Might be our new favorite place for after gambling grub!!”

“Hidden Gem steak restaurant in Valparaiso! Excellent service and food for our first time at this lovely find! Our server Julia was excellent and kind. We ordered French onion soup to start and it was very good with lots of flavor!For our entrees we orders the 8 oz filet cooked to our liking with a loaded baked potato. Dessert was excellent as we ordered Crème Brûlée and Tiramisu. The Tiramisu plate was almost too beautiful to eat!The atmosphere was quaint and quiet!We already made reservations to return!”

“I have always had good meals and good service at Heather's Dinner, but last week December 18 I order Biscuits and Gravy and was very disappointed! I know this is made with drippings from cooking sausage, but I also know when I have ordered this elsewhere there are small pieces of sausage in the gravy. Not at Heather's Dinner! There were specs os sausage, which provided we with a tastiest serving of biscuits and gravy. To me it tasted like flour and water. I asked if they could add a few pieces of sausage, but the waitress told me only if I paid for it. I declined and couldn't eat the rest. My recommendation is don't order the biscuits and gravy.”

“AYCE fried fish, but it isn't overly breaded. Great texture. Really great fish. I have never tried anything else on the menu. Service is hit or miss now with the new ownership. I haven't been there this year on account of COVID-19, but it's one of my grandparents' favorite places to go on a Lenten Friday.”
