“Delicious food, nice atmosphere, and fantastic wait staff! (very attentive, but not hovering... perfect!) My Seafood Pasta was spicy & soooo good!! (I had to use a shot of lemon juice to keep my lips from burning, but I loved everything about it!! 😁😘) The strawberry margaritas were so good. Tori waited on our YMCA water aerobics group of 12 people. She remembered each order, with all the special requests, all the drinks and who ordered what. No paper, no pen, no tablet. She was CONSTANTLY checking, refilling drinks, giving us all the special attention, and was SO FRIENDLY and pleasant. Tori was fabulous and AMAZING! THANK YOU so much!!!!

“For the first time here I was very surprised! Great service & clean environment. Our subs were very well made & fresh & hot. Fresh lemonade 🍋 was delicious. We had the medium size subs and was very surprised of how big they were. A lot of meat and that's what I love on my sub. We was greeted has we walked in & they were very patient with us looking over the menu due to it was our first time ever coming there.

“The Purdue Mellos ordered Breakfast for their recent pregame tailgate. 24 orders. Ordering in advance was super easy and the staff and management was super accommodating of vegetarian and allergy orders. So many options to choose from. Pick up no problem either as our order was ready and not one item wrong or missing. It is often hard to find a place to order so early as we had a 9 am start time. We highly recommend The Country Cafe... West Lafayette. We will be back again~“

“We had a great dinner at Cheddars in Lafayette and had a particularly nice server called Libby. We both had salmon last night cooked two different ways and we both thought our food was really good. When we were feeling cold,and the restaurant was very busy, with a air conditioning vent blowing right on us, Libby found a great solution for us and moved us to new seats. We really appreciated it and she did it all with a smile.“

“1st time I came the food was AWESOME!. The hash browns and scrambled egg was perfect and a nice friendly young waitress. 2nd time completely disappointed. The scrambled egg was a plain omelet I had to cut up and dry as dry could be and the hash browns were not cooked, waitress was just ok, not real friendy and never came back to ask how food was. I may come back and if I do I see the 1st guy I will stay. I see the 2nd guy and I will walk out and head for BN because his cooking was just nasty! 💔“

“We eat here often. Always great food and service. Today, not so much. After waiting an extended period of time to be waited on by a gentlemen. We ordered drinks, was going to order an app but he took off. Brought back the drinks with the exception of my beer. After another 2 or 3 minutes while we watched our server clean tables and go in the back in the kitchen a few times we thought eventually he was on his way to get my beer. Nope around the corner on the other side wiping down tables. Decided to go across the street and spend my money. Could’ve been the end of the shift and he was pissed another table of 4 walked in at 1:20? Can’t expect great service every time. We will be back. At least the food has been great every time“

“I freaking LOVE the Downtowner! It's my go to place for breakfast. It's this really quaint diner vibe with old Indiana license plates on the wall.

The food is always spot on, I don't think I've ever had bad food there.

The service used to be better, but my favorite server just had a baby so I don't have quite the same relationship with the new gals.

I go there at least once a month and will continue to do so. Oh! And the prices are 🤌😘.“

“I walked into the diner for breakfast. I got more than Breakfast. I saw history in the way of news papers hanging on the was. It wasn't just the head line they saved. No. It was the whole news paper. The oldest one I saw was the paper with the headline when the Titanic sunk. Which was next to a poster for the Titanic. Liking photography like I do. There are cameras of all kinds everywhere. The part that made my breakfast that much better was hearing Casey Kasem American top 40 playing. This diner is just your neighbor diner I a good way. Good food for a good price. As I paid my bill I met the owner. She told me her father bought the diner 40 years ago. She keeping her dad's legacy a live. If you are in Lafayette stop in to the sunrise diner. And look at the history that is everywhere. Have lunch breakfast or just a cup of coffee at the counter and remember where you were on these days of history that's around you.“

This place has great customer service and they actually care about correcting their mistakes.
Whoever runs this place is doing a good job in taking care of the customer.
