“Got the Mahi Mahi for a birthday dinner. The side it came with and the fish itself was great. Thought the sauce could be a little better. Was a little bland. The shrimp appetizer was phenomenal. The vibe in the bar is also fantastic. Very cool looking and gives like an old New Orleans oyster bar vibe. Server was great as well. She was going to let me use her umbrella to walk to the truck because it was raining and was going to bring it back to pick up my wife. But it let up so I didn’t need it. Will definitely be back to try a different dish.“

“We live in Brownsburg and this is one of our favorite weekend breakfast spots. When a friend suggested we meet up on a week day I was excited. We sat and chatted for a long time. The waitress did not try and rush us out as the restraunt was not full. We did leave before the lunch crew started coming in and tipped well since we took that table for so long. Always a good meal.“

“Like many locals, we were curious (and honestly a little skeptical) when El Torro in Zionsville became Z Torro under new ownership. After hearing about a refreshed menu and a focus on fresher ingredients, we decided to give it a try — and we’re glad we did.

The first thing we noticed was the packed parking lot, which felt like a good sign. The new owner was previously part of the original El Torro organization, but this feels different in the best way possible. Instead of being one restaurant in a larger group, Z Torro now feels like a restaurant owned by someone who truly knows Zionsville, understands the community, and cares about what locals actually want from their neighborhood Mexican restaurant.

The food was fresh, flavorful, and noticeably elevated from what we remembered before. Service was warm, the atmosphere felt energized, and overall the experience exceeded our expectations.

It’s always nice to see a local restaurant reinvent itself successfully, and based on our visit, Z Torro is off to a very strong start. We were very pleased with our meal and look forward to going back.“

“My husband and 2 kids came here for dinner tonight. Very friendly staff. Shuxiang was very kind to the kids. Food service was fast. Hot and sour soup was excellent. The kids meal with panda noodles was great. First restaurant all family has eaten without any fussiness! We will be back! All dishes were excellent! Table was also quite clean! Highly recommend!“
