“I am not usually inclined to leave a review, but I feel as tonight's visit warrants a call out. As a parent that has a child with a gluten allergy we know the struggles of finding places out to eat. We have had Azzip a few times, but have always ordered ahead of time online then drove to the store to pick it up. This evening, we found ourselves out on errands and in the area and decided Azzip had been a safe choice in the past so we made our way there. The store was not busy, but there people ahead of us and behind us and I felt the protocol followed didn't slow the process terribly but I want to commend the staff for taking it seriously. What I witnessed: 2 people working the line making the pizza on the "ingredients" side of the oven. my kid informed them of the gluten free need and they asked if it was preference or allergy. my kid informed them of allergy. they cleared the line of the previous pizza being made once cleared, they stripped their gloves and cleaned the work space and the sauce bottle my kid wanted on their pizza a cooking mat from a separate area was produced and the cauliflower crust requested was added all the toppings requested were added then the pizza was placed in the oven. there was communication to the receiving team member that an allergen pizza was coming afterwards, my other kid and my pizza were started only after the 1st was placed in the oven. after the gluten free pizza came out of the oven, I noticed the cutting instrument was different than what was used for the other pizzas we ordered. Our experiences thus far is many people don't understand what Celiac disease is and how gluten can harm the body of those affected. It is more than just the ingredients consumed; cross contamination is the true problem. Seeing the team execute the procedure with care warmed my heart as I know it takes a lot of effort to create the process, then train to it and then to follow it. My appreciation to the team! We will definitely be back!“

We were blessed because not only was a New Orleans brass band playing but we had an amazing three course meal with a perfect seat at the end of the bar. The food was divine. “Homey but upscale atmosphere at the same time. Quite busy when I went but they fit us in even tho our reservation was for the wrong time. The complimentary bread had a wonderfully crunchy crust. The eggplant and portabello mushroom spaghetti with capers and green and black olives was unlike anything I’ve had before—what fun to try something new! It was so flavorful! And the portion size lasted for two meals. Would get again.“

“We had a party of 10 for a birthday celebration for our 19 year old grandson and granddaughter. First of all, it was raining and we were pleasantly surprised they had complimentary valet service. The restaurant decor was beautiful and it added to the celebration. The choices of sides to go with the steak we ordered were very good and serving a complimentary salad with the steak was appreciated. Our server Matthew and the assistant Michele were exceptional and made the celebration very special. We will go here again.“

“When I tell you I love this place. You have no idea I live about 2 hours away and will make a trip JUST to go here and eat. The burgers are fun unique and so appetizing. “OMG, I loved this place. Very cool old school nice pub eatery established in 1933. It has gorgeous woodwork throughout and vintage charm. Loved the atmosphere as much as the service and food. The tenderloin is a game changer. I love me a tenderloin and the thickness was perfect and the breading is fried to perfection and very flavorful. Now I'm planning for a bike ride here to eat with my peeps😎🍻“

“Visited Sun King Carmel on a Sunday early evening. First visit at the ‘food court’ so a bit wandering and chaotic. There should be a court monitor stationed at a desk 1st floor middle of seating area right outside fenced area entrance from food court to access Sun King mostly to screen / prevent minors from entering the restricted area but didn’t know you could sit at a table in the general seating food court area and a Sun King server would visit to take your order as I just walked up to the Sun King bar counter and ordered myself unwittingly. Problem would be is likely a bit of a wait if I hadn’t self-ordered as it took about 10-15 minutes after I was seated for a server to check on my status after I sat at a table. But, the tab runs and the bartender tracks/forwards your order to the server and they finally track you down ultimately to pay the bill before you depart.

In the meantime, can partake the food court vendors for specialty cuisines yourself. Order and pick up food yourself and take to your table. If you can find a clean table top, as even though the food court wasn’t bysy, the tables weren’t all clean.

So Sun King has a limited variety on tap. The Osiris Pale Ale is mild not bitter so good and drinkable. But the Orange Vanilla Cream Ale is flavored similar to children’s orange aspirin icky I would not order it again.

Counter bar tender accommodating and server polite and courteous. Did check on me frequently after finding me seated.

Anyways if your first visit might be confusing the order delivery seating process. But go get it yourself or sit at a table and wait a bit and hope a server tends to you in a reasonable amount of time.“
