The Memo's family is very welcoming to their guest and their employees. I'm very happy I am able to be a part of the Memo's team. “After visiting the historic Barker Mansion in Michigan City, Indiana, I sought out Fiddleheads restaurant, which arguably offers the best lunch in town. Located at 422 Franklin Street, it is open from 11 to 8 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, 11 to 2 on Wednesday and 11 to 9 on Friday and Saturday. I started with six fried shrimp with bangin' sauce, slaw, mixed greens and green onions. Then I consumed a two-fisted grass fed burger with Romaine lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese and caramelized onion on a pretzel roll with truffle/parmesan fries. It's a 55-mile trip from my home on Chicago's Gold Coast to Michigan City, from the Dan Ryan Expressway to the Chicago Skyway to the Indiana Toll Road. But it's a thrill to stand on the beach in Michigan City and gaze out over Lake Michigan and see the tops of the Chicago skyline on a clear day. Try it some time.“

I had the Dark Jerk Chicken meal with cabbage, red beans and rice, and a side of the Mac and cheese. Everything was absolutely amazing!!!! I can not rave enough about how flavorful everything was. That Jerk Sauce was amazing! I love spicy foods and it was the perfect mild spice for me. Just enough to feel the burn but not over power the flavor.“

“The ‘what the cluck?’ and ‘andouille po boy’ were both delicious! The catfish nugz were super soft and tasty too. A little salty after eating a couple of ‘em though.

I personally would come back here to have the ‘what the cluck’ bao burger and nugz again.

We also tried out some of the seasonal ciders. My favorite was the apple caramel cider. After trying some ciders, we traveled to Valparaiso and visited Misbeehavin’ Meads to purchase a couple drinks for friends and family.

“we stumbled on this gem last summer for the first time and just went back for our 5th time yesterday and we live 3 1/2 hours away! the food is consistently amazing, everything we try we love. “I went in last night it was every bit of 90 degrees in this establishment. the one gal who's super quick and very friendly opened up the doors for air flow, great decision and she ever worried if the boss would be mad. every time i go in and shes working my family and i get the best service. If more businesses had employees like this in their work place they forever have our business. maybe some of the gals should take pointers we don't always get friendly service especially from the younger employees. GOOOD THING OUR DAY GAL WAS WORKING NIGHTS. made our horrible day better by the time we left.“

We had barely started eating our food when we noticed a couple of the very young waitresses talking poorly about an older couple that had just left. They were making rude comments about the way they smelled, laughing and joking about the couple while the waitresses were on the floor and in clear earshot of more than just our table. We were so disgusted with the behavior and immaturity of the two waitresses, we reported the behavior to the manager on duty, who did nothing but laugh and joke with them. My girlfriend and I were so offended we asked for to go boxes, paid our bill, and left. As we were leaving one of the waitresses in question was whispering and pointing at us with another waitress. The maturity level of the staff tonight was incredible. I have seen preschoolers with better behavior. I do not recommend this branch if this behavior continues, however, FB will not let you say you did not recommend.“
