“We visited last night for the first time. Let’s just say we had a fantastic time. The waitress went above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience. She was very pleasant and welcoming. The food was fantastic. Sushi was amazing and our main dishes were delightful. We couldn’t believe the size of the menu. Something for everyone! We were given tea to try which was tasty and then given the same to take home. Just because she wanted to. We had a family member with a birthday and they came out singing with a drum and a special desert. She also came out as we were paying with more food to take home and try. She went above and beyond. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great night!“

“The staff and food here are constantly excellent. I've eaten from their normal menu a couple times but their weekly specials usually on social media almost always pull me in. The food always tastes really fresh and hot. The staff is prompt about getting us refills on drinks - also the beer menu is really big. I think they could improve by doing a seasonal swap out of their cocktails. And unless you are fine waiting an hour for a table a reservation is important. But this is only because their food is the best. This is currently the best restaurant in Valpo, or so I think. Cheers!“

While us three were stopped ready to get out, I heard a mom say “slow down” and her child drove into the back of my cart, didn’t brake at all and I hit my head so hard on the back of my seat. To the mom, you and your little boy are not at fault at all! The workers should’ve said slow down or show them how to brake beforehand. They didn’t even check if any of us were okay afterwards. I think there needs to be an age restriction on the GoKarts or at least a mandatory demonstration for the little ones before they drive. I absolutely love Zao and mean no harm but the workers for the GoKarts needed to handle the situation better for the future. 🫶🏻“

“I went in for carry out and was greeted immediately. Granted its a slower night but Tony was super professional and even jumped in to get my food going. I happened to notice the manager and flagged to tell him how great his staff was, clean the place is, and how we were looking forward to our meal. Turned out his name was Tony and he was going around making sure the lights were perfect, the orders were right and guests were greeted. Truly refreshing to see people taking such pride and enjoyment out of their job and serving great quality. A new favorite place for us to go and the price is exceptional for the great quality and tasty food. Check it out!“

“Super friendly staff, tasty food, and good prices. This is easily the most child friendly restaurant I have been too in a very long time. There is always a milk crate in the bathroom under the sink so my little one can actually wash her hands independently. 10/10“

“Well everyone always tells me if you have bad service once you should always try again. Well I did and guess what service was still bad. With only 9 people in the bar area we asked for menus and drinks. We got the drinks but the bartender was too busy on her phone to come back and take our order. After waiting almost 30 minutes I walked out. I use to go there at least three times a week. Never again.“

“Parea is very good for an upper scale restaurant in downtown Valpo and could very well be my local favorite for a sit down dinner. The service here has always been very good and the servers seem like pretty down to Earth individuals (at least those I've spoken to). The atmosphere is very nice and the bar area is no exception. The food is the real show here and it (Mostly) never disappoints. The food is about what I'd expect, it's very good, but oftentimes I feel like it's lacking a little something that makes it really shine as opposed to other high end restaurants I've been to in other towns. It's also pretty pricey which is expected for a restaurant of this caliber, but with that high price comes an expectation that the food will be excellent. And for the most part, it does not disappoint.“

“I had not been to a Schoop's in a few years. The food was very good and the waitress was attentive, refilling our drink orders before we asked. The only bad thing was smelling cigarettes when we walked in the door even though smoking is not allowed in the restaurant. Because of this, we sat at a table away from the door“

“Had wrote a review a few days ago regarding a coupon not being utilized for a 50% off. I just deleted the review on accident but wanted to update to anyone who had read that. A manager contacted me and apologized for the mistake that had been made. The young man that had taken the order was fairly new and has now been educated on how to process that particular type of coupon. Managment was extremely apologetic and quick to recover and make me feel much better about the situation. They offered a credit for the WHOLE pizza!!! We well absolutely order from Rosati‘s again as that is our favorite pizza and the closest to Chicago as we can get in pizza.“

“Absolutely fabulous. Had grilled oysters, Caesar salad, salmon dish with puréed turnips, bolognese and the burger. Shared chocolate mousse and beignets for dessert. Julia was our server and she was wonderful. Highly recommend. It was our first time here and we will be back“

“Food stayed warm after a 30+ minute traffic hellscape. Tastes like the pizza joints that used to be around my neighborhood when I was a kid. Wings excellent,if you like saucy wings get a side of sauce. If not theyre seasoned perfectly.

If you like pinball machines they have quite a collection. Manager was training new employee while I was there and they were doing an excellent job,kudos to you.

“This Applebee's is super! Staff is wonderful. Food is great! We stopped at the one in South Bend & after we were seated no one came by for 15 min & it was not busy at all at 2:30 in the afternoon. So we decided to keep driving. Stopped in at this WONDERFUL Applebee's in Valparaiso. Can't say enough good things!!! “I’m so done eating here.. i loved it for years but the fact that we ordered at 8:15. 45 min before closing. They gave us all the old food. Old hard dry rice, COLD orange chicken, OLD crab Rangoon. If you don’t want to cook fresh food at 8:15 say you close at 8 and i gladly would have gone somewhere else. 4 loyal years of multiple times a month taking out. Down the drain.“
