“On a weather rich day, this place's outdoor seating really shines, and on dreary evenings the indoors are plenty welcoming. It's like a being in a Norman Rockwell painting - lots of regulars, the aesthetics of the food and drink make your eyes salivate, and very yuppie (not in a bad way perse, but there's too many golf polos to not point this out).
Overall, I feel the drinks and starters are just better than the mains. Pricing on quality beer and cocktails is just better than the surrounding eateries without sacrificing quality. And the appetizers are more fun and flavorful than I've come to expect from a place like this. Yet every time I've been here, I feel like I'm overpaying for a good-but-not-great entree.
As a date spot to get to know someone or just catch up with your posse? Excellent choice, would always recommend. Seeking a gastro pub experience to entertain your pallette? It'll do, just wouldn't be my first pick.“

“We sat at the bar for an early dinner on Saturday. My husband and I both had a beer and dinner. We are vegan so it was wonderful to have a place where we have a choice about what to order.
Vegetarian options: We were able to get vegan meals without having to remove multiple parts of the sandwiches.“

“We had El Salto cater our wedding and they were amazing from start to finish!!! We had a taco bar with chicken and beef along with fajita veggies for our vegetarian guests. We also had rice, beans, guacamole, queso, and chips and salsa! Great prices, great communication and just all around a wonderful experience!! Thank you, Caitlin and the El Salto team! “I enjoy duffys place to catch up with friends. They have reasonably prices on food and drinks. I look for their specials and special music the most.
Parking: They have a decent amount of parking in front and back. When they are really busy it can be hard to find parking“

“Had wrote a review a few days ago regarding a coupon not being utilized for a 50% off. I just deleted the review on accident but wanted to update to anyone who had read that. A manager contacted me and apologized for the mistake that had been made. The young man that had taken the order was fairly new and has now been educated on how to process that particular type of coupon. Managment was extremely apologetic and quick to recover and make me feel much better about the situation. They offered a credit for the WHOLE pizza!!! We well absolutely order from Rosati‘s again as that is our favorite pizza and the closest to Chicago as we can get in pizza.“

“It was our first time visiting the Viking Chili Bowl in Valpo. We called ahead for a table since we were a party of 6. Glad we did. Even though the place was packed, we had excellent, friendly service. I was impressed that our food arrived as soon as it did. The food was good. My husband absolutely loved the ham. Portions are big. My granddaughter barely got through a half on one of her pancakes. I had the fish sandwich with Onion rings. Sandwich was standard. I really enjoyed the rings. My husband and I ordered the chili to go for dinner. I have to say, I was disappointed. The only negative. The chili looked very processed. Like it came straight from a can. It was an unappealing brown color and it didn't taste good. Guess I had a sort of expectation from the restaurant's name. Again, everything else was pleasant and enjoyable outside of the Chili. We look forward to returning some time.“

“Very pore customer service by management (Cody G) First when we ordered drinks he failed to tell us for 45 mins that they were out of the ordered items. This was the second time we ordered something they were out of with a long delay before being told that they were out of the item. Then when he brought our food after an hr wait he tells us that one of our pizzas was dropped on the floor and they had to remake it. During our whole time he never asked if we needed refills for our drinks either. Leaving my kids with empty drinks most the time there. Will not be back any time soon if ever. only rate this place as a 1 anymore. Since this is the second time the food has not tasted good. First time thought it was on off night but apparently the management which was our server is the bigger issue here.“

“We usually sit at the bar and get excellent service. A couple times we have sat in the dining room and the service is hit or miss depending on your waitress. The food is always great and we love the bottomless fries, salad and drinks. This place is a treat for us to go to for dinner, so we always look forward to eating here. It's a fun place to go to! Eat in the bar, you get dinner, tv's that work, entertaining bartender and great atmosphere!“

“I’m so done eating here.. i loved it for years but the fact that we ordered at 8:15. 45 min before closing. They gave us all the old food. Old hard dry rice, COLD orange chicken, OLD crab Rangoon. If you don’t want to cook fresh food at 8:15 say you close at 8 and i gladly would have gone somewhere else. 4 loyal years of multiple times a month taking out. Down the drain.“

She made helpful suggestions and kept stopping by the table to make sure we had everything we needed. I got the blackened salmon and it was amazing! “Very fun place, our waitress was the sweetest and very considerate. Tried going two other times and couldn't make it. I'm so glad I was able to get in, dine upstairs, and dinner was excellent. It was so nice having grilled octopus instead of fried calamari. Lamb chops were perfect, and I had the "scalabet" for my entree. We finished it off with a cookie skillet. I was STUFFED, so it's worth it.“
