“1st time eating here. It will not be my last. My server, Roxanne was great. Loved the atmosphere. I sat at a table in the bar area. I ordered the mussel appetizer, they were the best mussels. The mussels are cooked in a garlic white wine sauce with sautéed cherry tomatoes, served with toasted bread. For dinner I had 4 buttermilk battered butterflied jumbo shrimp. These shrimp were cooked to perfection! I also had 2 pieces of cod, along with creamiest cole slaw. The meal also came with a hush puppy, crunchy on the outside but soft and moist on the inside and a side of French fries. I live 1.5 hours away, but I will drive here for the delicious seafood. I can hardly wait to try their crab Rangoon sushi roll, seafood pasta dishes and pretzel with jalapeño cheese sauce. “Hidden Gem steak restaurant in Valparaiso! Excellent service and food for our first time at this lovely find! Our server Julia was excellent and kind. We ordered French onion soup to start and it was very good with lots of flavor!For our entrees we orders the 8 oz filet cooked to our liking with a loaded baked potato. Dessert was excellent as we ordered Crème Brûlée and Tiramisu. The Tiramisu plate was almost too beautiful to eat!The atmosphere was quaint and quiet!We already made reservations to return!“

“Just got out of the hospital and didn't feel like cooking. My husband decided that we would give Taphouse a try. Boy am I glad we decided to try this little gem. The service was fast, friendly, and the food was phenomenal!!!We had the prime rib dinner that came with a salad and baked potato. Everything was just awesome! Made up of 2 excellent flounder filets. 5 or 6 large fantail shrimp, a dozen or so excellent bay scallops and multitude of excellent clam strips. Coleslaw was inedible, tasted like they used sour cream instead of salad dressing, no tang. The tarter sauce was bad, no tang It's called tartar sauce because it is suppose to have some tang, either vinegar or lemon in it!Luckily the biscuits and baked potato were excellent.They are suppose to be a seafood place? Why are the shrimp so small, size of krill. And the lobster tail they serve an small and tough.Also a true seafood place has a bigger variety of fish like Walleye, Grouper, Sea Bass, Red Snapper, Sole, Haddock,Jumbo Shrimp.There are carry out places in the area like Shrimp Express, Simply Seafood and Bobs Shrimp that serve way better Shrimp and Fish“

“My girlfriend and I were there on Wednesday February 28 for our 9 month anniversary. She had no idea I had plans to propose to her that night. Destiny was our server and she was very accommodating and pleasant. We ordered two filet mignon steaks with loaded baked potatoes and the steaks were cooked to perfection and the potatoes were mouth wateringly delicious. We had Hennessey BBQ chicken wings and fried green tomatoes as our appetizers and those were also on point. I ordered a glass of Guinness to get my nerve up to pop the question to my lovely girlfriend, now fiancé because she said yes. It was a very special occasion and everybody involved went above and beyond to make that happen, including taking my request to play one of our favorite songs, "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran, right before I told Bri to close her eyes then got down on one knee. Destiny received a generous tip for all she did to make it a great night for us. Will definitely be back and I highly recommend Beach Cafe (Nostalgia) to all those in the area.“
