“While I love the home made bread, soup and salads. My name was called so quietly that by the time I looked to see if it was ready my soup was cold. It was already very quite inside. So I guess make employees call orders louder and it'd be perfect. Still we eat my soup and bread when I can from here.“

“The staff and food here are constantly excellent. I've eaten from their normal menu a couple times but their weekly specials usually on social media almost always pull me in. The food always tastes really fresh and hot. The staff is prompt about getting us refills on drinks - also the beer menu is really big. I think they could improve by doing a seasonal swap out of their cocktails. And unless you are fine waiting an hour for a table a reservation is important. But this is only because their food is the best. This is currently the best restaurant in Valpo, or so I think. Cheers!“

“We are on vacation at Indiana Dunes and stopped in at Dog Days today after lunch for a treat. Great place, and AMAZING staff! Our kids, ages 5 and 2, changed their minds on what they wanted a couple of times and the two young ladies working were so patient with us as they took our orders. Very clean and a great atmosphere - My kids loved watching the little train overhead. And of course, the ice cream was delicious! Also, they have a family restroom with a changing table, which may not be high on most people’s list but that can be so hard to find in these little specialty shops and as a family with two littles, having those facilities easily available is just a very nice bonus. Highly recommend :)“

“We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and Jordan and Nicole were so welcoming. They helped make suggestions on coffee and tea. The drinks were very well made and Jordan asked if we would like the banana bread we bought warmed up. Such nice personal touches in the coffee shop. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended if you are ever in the area.“

“12/1/25 I decided to give them a shot and I must say that my experience was truly delightful and I was completely amazed at how fast my food came out I ordered the eggs Benedict and the eggs were poached to perfection this place has the potential to be one of my top spots, for take out I went with the corn chowder soup to enjoy when I got home and after putting it in my microwave sometime later that evening its was definitely worth the wait and had my taste buds dancing next time I'm in Valpo I'm definitely stopping by thank you for such a wonderful experience and I need that recipe...“

“Kipkates did a great job with grandbaby's shower cake. I took a picture of a cake, and they made it identical to the picture. I wanted a more expensive 3 tier, and they talked me into a more affordable 2 tier that turned out wonderful. It tasted delicious! Great experience!“

She always checked on us made sure we had enough breadsticks. usually, they’re very stingy with the bread. She made sure Had enough refills on drinks before we were completely empty. We didn’t have to ask for anything. Everything ran very smoothly. She was very sweet very kind. She definitely deserves extreme recognition. We could tell that she cared and was very genuine We made sure to let the manager know, but we wanted to write a review as well. Make sure you get Natasha! Thanks again. After a long day at work, there’s nothing better than unwinding somewhere you know you're going to be taken care of, and the team at the Merrillville Chili’s always delivers.
The food was hot, fresh, and hit the spot—whether you’re dining in or grabbing carry-out, they make sure everything is top-notch. But what really makes this location special is the genuine hospitality and friendship.
A massive shout-out to Antonio, Cliff, and Zarrick! These guys go above and beyond with excellent customer service, great energy, and true professionalism. They’re a huge part of what makes this team so amazing.
