“I rate on a planetwide scale, and don't give out 5 stars lightly. Maybe it's really a 4.5, but for northern Indiana it's about 7 stars. This place is just delightful. Yummy and creative sandwiches, salads, and breakfast things with amusing descriptions. I had the grilled cheese with saurkraut and bourbon-carmelized onions. Small but good selection of pastries. About 20 varieties of loose leaf teas. They do their own chai and miraculously it's not oversweetened. Could use more cardamom, but that's a personal preference. Friendly, cheerful, funny staff. I was there around dinnertime on a cold February Wednesday and of the dozen tables only three were occupied. Plus a couch on which a couple of geeky teenagers were talking and flirting quietly. Several power outlets. Decor that day was a mixture of Valentine's cards (maybe seasonal), plus various bits of local art, and some geek culture figures (The Ticket, Rorschach from The Watchmen). Backs of chairs have random bits of macrame weaved through them. There's a delicate and happy-making mural of birds and a tree in the bathroom. Free wi-fi with password.
[Update: 21Jun26 - Dropped by without realizing I'd been there before. They don't seem to do their own chai anyway, but otherwise it's still wonderful. A couple of outdoor tables on the sidewalk, which is now important to me in permanent pandemic world.]“

“We just had dinner at Five Star Thai Cuisine. What a delight! We have tried some of the other Thai places in the area and none hold a candle to this restaurant. Such authentic flavors! We lived in Thailand, and this is like popping into one of the local corner places in Bangkok. We will definitely return!“

“So all of NWI lost power on Tuesday, and I went in on Wednesday to place an order to go. Everyone there was amazing they were working hard, all the waiters and all the cooks, the ones answering the phones and taking orders was doing a fabulous job on Wednesday, way to go Olive Garden in highland. You guys came together to make sure they ur customers were happy, they also had customers in there charging there phones,and they didn’t tell them to go or anything.“

“I stop at Panera to get my Mom a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup! That’s what I know she’ll eat.
Now my husband and I love their donuts cinnamon crunch bagel. He also loves the cinnamon roll. We have to get them warmed.
It takes a specialist to get the temperature perfect. When I say perfect, with the cinnamon roll, the icing is warm, melty, but still on the cinnamon roll, and when you take a bite, it’s nice and gooey! The cinnamon crunch bagel is the same, and this time I tried it with the honey maple walnut! It was delicious.
So thank you to the lady that served us! She was very nice, and she got a perfect 10 on our order! It was delicious. If you have tried the cinnamon bagel crunch, run! My husband likes the cinnamon roll! Don’t miss out!“

“Firstly, Avante was incredible! So personable and attentive to our table. My family and I rarely go out to eat but it was a special occasion as we haven't spent much time to spend together. The quality of the food was awesome (and hot!) and our server, Avante was prompt in giving us everything we needed. There's a beautiful team here and we can't wait to come back! Note: the mango patron margarita is delicious!“
