“This is my south side of South Bend favorite! Highly recommend the black pepper chicken combination plate and fantastic egg drop soup! I have never had a bad meal here and I have probably ordered here at least 100 times. The portions and prices are more than fair! You are missing out if you haven't tried Oriental Express! Truly a hidden gem.“

“My favorite restaurant of all! They have such a large variety of food! Trays are always full and piping hot! It blows my mind that they serve prime rib everyday! Our waiter was super friendly and funny! He kept our tables politely cleared. This restaurant is almost 20 miles from my house, but I gladly and excitedly can make the trip weekly!“

“Absolutely amazing. It has been a long time since I've been able to find another restaurant that has authentic offerings aside from the standard American dishes. I ordered the garlic cabbage and 3-cup chicken. The chicken dish was new to me and it was fantastic -- full of flavor and the sauce is great over rice. Will definitely be back and am looking forward to trying more of the offerings.“

“For delivery, I ordered the vegetable lo mein and Sichuan vegetables with bean curd (tofu). Portions were generous, including the vegetables, but both dishes were under-seasoned for my taste.
The lo mein was very bland and needed additional seasoning at home (sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, dark soy sauce, chilli oil). The Sichuan vegetables were too sweet and heavily thickened, with little of the heat, numbing spice, or bold flavor I associate with Sichuan cuisine, so I also remedied that with toasted peppercorns and chili oil. The vegetables had too much water, so they needed to be cooked off along with dumping half the sauce. The tofu was good, though.
Some extra MSG could have helped both dishes.
Overall, the food felt geared toward a sweeter, milder American-Chinese style. If that’s what you’re looking for, your experience may be different.“

“I had the Szechuan beef and the chicken wings. Everything was delicious. The staff was fast and friendly, and even offered me more rice. Their prices are very well. In fact their lunch menu is less expensive than most fast food carryout lunches and definitely a lot more healthy for you.“

“Went in to order take out for us on Valentine's Day. Place was clean and had just opened. Friendly lady took my order. I ordered the crab rangoon, sweet and sour chicken, veg lo mein, and beef and mushrooms. Didn't have to wait long. Home in 10 min and wish I would have taken a picture. Everything smelled so good and healthy portions. Tasted so good!! Was very happy!!“
