“This place is amazing! We are from out of state and in town for a special event. We sat at the counter and truly enjoyed watching the cooks working in rhythm. The foods was amazing!!! Biscuit were soft and tall. Grits were done right. Fancy hash browns were worth it. Eggs were perfectly over easy!!!! Highly recommend! We WILL eat here again when we are in the area. I cannot praise this place enough.”

“Amazingly flavorful! We had a mac attack potato w/ chicken, a giant baked potato w/ brisket, and a one meat dinner w/ pulled pork and smokey beans & potato salad. Everyone raved about it. We will be back when we’re in McPherson again!”

“food is AMAZING! The onion ring, green beans and the chicken fried steak are delish. Service is very hot and cold. Drove up from out of town a few weeks ago, the young man was prompt,friendly and even recommended his favorites. Went again last night, 3 servers with only 3 tables of people (2 tops) and still waited over 10 minutes to be greeted by a server, which we had to ask for. She appeared only to take our order, deliver food and deliver check. Never offered refills or checked on us at all. Waitresses passed us several times and not one acknowledged a table that wasn't their own. The waitress to which whom we asked who our server was, was quite unfriendly. It wasn't a good experience. I will return because the food is that good but they need some service skills to fill that place up.”

“Today was our first experience with Slim Chickens. We arrived around 2:30 in the afternoon. We were a group of 5 who was not having the greatest of days. We had left the oncologist office (my hubby was diagnosed the day after his 64th bday with stage 4 cancer) getting the results of his first Pet scan. They weren't fabulous. Left there to go to a different place to eat that he really likes. In the process of trying to park we were in a little fender bender. Directly in the door where he was sitting. But nobody hurt thank God and very minimal damage to either car. That restaurant closed so we decided to try Slim Chickens. So very glad we got to try it!!!! First off it was spotless! Not sure who the gentleman behind the counter was but he was awesome. Several of us wanted salads and asked about the lettuce. He told us what he had but offered to chop up the different type they had if we would prefer. I am picky about my lettuce so I really really appreciated that. AND IT WAS AN AMAZING SALAD!!! I ate the whole thing!! Also the lady doing the kitchen side was GREAT too. She brought us To-go boxes without having to ask. Said if we needed anything to let her know!! The whole experience was excellent after the last few hours (and month) that we have had. Oh and the prices are very reasonable. We had 5 in our group. Everyone had a meal and drink and total bill was only $60. So if you are traveling on I35 near McPherson or live close and haven't tried there, DO IT!!! You won't be disappointed I promise!!”
